Engineers and the guy from the first Alien movie don't have eggs and will never be pregnant. When a host is being used by a parasite, and the parasite changes forms inside of it, at no point is the host EVER pregnant with the parasite. Back when they made ALIEN, I read they based the life-cycle of the Xenomorph on a wasp that would inject eggs into a caterpillar and the wasp larvae would eat the caterpillar alive.
