Someone please explain the human sized Engineer on board Prometheus.

This has been talked about numerous times, i really don't think its Holloway it looks the same as the beings in the hologram scene with david where it looks barely taller then him. The Sj just isn't as big as people thought and the design has probably changed on the pilot seat since Alien

Maybe the giants walking around in the holograms, giant chair, merks shooting their guns way up at a figure approaching dickie, huge body lying supine in corridor of temple are confusing the heck out of me! Even in a newer scene an Engineer/ Space jockey holographic image runs through david, and it seems to tower over him, like his head is at it's waist. But I guess 5,000 fans see 5,000 diferrent photos and scenes. I love what a member said about what we see being a Roarsche (?) test of our expectations of the film.

His head is closer to there shoulders if you look and the mask could make them look a little bigger there, so really would only make them about 7ft.

It would be SO WRONG to change the size of the enginner/spacejockey. Remember in the alien spacejockey scene Ridley Scott used kids instead of the actors. Maybe only the suit of the spacejockey is much bigger than humans and the spacejockey is just a few ft taller. So many spoilers. So many threats. And we are still in the dark.

Alien was made 3 decades ago lots of things and ideas change, it's also on a different planet/ship and could be a completely different type of SJ. Ian Whyte is listed as the Last Engineer and he is 7ft 1",how would you have a 9-12ft space jockey portrayed without massive amounts of cgi?

Possibly but it makes things much harder doesn't it and the thing couldnt fit inside the crew ship, all signs point to around 7ft though. David up to there shoulders in both hologram scenes the only thing is the Shaw scene i guess it does look a little smaller but he could be holding her up.

I really dont know, maybe it is in hindsight a mistake by Ridley? Maybe if they are going for the Engineer to be 9ft tall, he thought that in a scene with the Actor who plays the Jockey and Small Shaw the illsion because of size would give the impression of him still being large due to how small Shaw is. Maybe he never thought some would then start to take messurments etc... Maybe like us not every Engineer is the same height, we have some actors who could be 5ft and some who are 7ft they are all Human. There has been different sizes given for the Jockey. When Alien came out, production staff and interviews said he was 15ft The consensus for this movie seemed to be about 9ft.... I read a Magazine that i was gonna buy about Prometheus, but i never due to inconsistancies... one say SJ was 7.9M thats like 25ft and another said they was 12ft tall. Now i calculated the size of the Alien Chair to be 16ft, which gave me a estimate of the Jockey to be about 11-12ft depending on angle of how he sat in the chair. I estimated if the Chair in Prometheus is the same size, then the guy in that chair is about 9ft Looking at the size of the Jockeys in the Hollogram room with David, the one that passes through him, the guy who walks over to and stand by the Chair in some shots compared to David gives me a height of about 9ft, some come back maybe as small as 8ft but no taller than 9ft. The Space Jockey suits on the Walls apear to be about 10ft, the length of the sarcophagus would apear to fit a being of about 9-10ft if it was same dimentions of the average Coffin for a 6ft person. All my calculation even though maybe not 100% accurate come back to say the Engineers are about 8.5ft tall. But then the shot of one running through Prometheus and attacking Shaw when compared to the height of the ships wall compared to crew and the passage way compared to shot where Vickers enters same door as Engineer does latter gives me a height of..... 7ft 3" to 7ft 6" Tops..... a inconsistancy? Maybe my other calculations are not correct, i am sure the ones of the latter scenes are..... i.e about 7ft 4" But i am sure over and over the Prometheus Production team claim the Engineers to be about 9ft... So who knows, is this another Ridley moment like the Men in Jeans in Gladiator? Is the Engineer only suposed to stand about 7.5ft tall? Is this Engineer just smaller than the others like how Obama is to say Larry Johnson (Basket Ball Legend)? Or is that not a ancient Engineer so as to speak?

David apears to come up to about chest height or just above elbow of the Engineers in most shots..... which would mean they was about 8.5ft odd in those shots.... So funny enough yes David apears to be upto same height compared to them, as Shaw does in the one she fights, so there is some inconsistancy.

So not many buys into the theory that crew members mutate into Engineers or Engineer off spring that grow rapidly will be introduced into the movie. The Engineers then may be a separate race that plays with DNA and manipulates other beings, even possibly creates life, but don't believe in inner breeding to produce more Engineers. So much fun speculation. I guess the suit might be a problem if engineers robe and disrobe, unless the material is also grown bio mechanically for their bodies out of existing materials, or are a part of them. I guess my main concern is why the invitation ( or warning ). Might be a straight forward Mythology theme, religioun from their perspective, or just pure humans being in the wrong place at the wrong time,
