MemberOvomorphApr-30-2012 7:11 PMI agree I'm thinking about doing the same thing! I don't think the Proto facehugger should have been shown in the trailers!

I don't think I've seen anything more beautiful on film.
When I saw the "Map room" for the first time, though---that let me know this was going to be something more than spectacular....it's a game changer. Get ready for the copy-cats, the latchers-on---every movie will look like this one for awhile...which---may not be a bad thing, save for the "cheap imitators"...

MemberOvomorphApr-30-2012 7:22 PMIronically, every movie can't look like this, no matter how hard they try. There are maybe a handful of other directors who understand multiple aspects of visual art like Ridley. Especially regarding light. He's modern Orson Welles when it comes to the use of light for dramatic effect. It's that art/design background that does it. Kubrick was a photographer before he made films, and it shows.
Now, there are plenty of cinematographers who grasp these things, probably even better, but are hamstrung by their directors.

i had a secret suspicion a long while back,
that Scott would produce something jaw-dropping
for us all to see and enjoy
and so far, he has NOT disappointed
my heart actually POUNDS FASTER when i see / read
anything fresh and new about this film, i have a feeling
this film will far surpass ANY / ALL films that attempted
to continue the fascination i have with ALIEN
my heart is even pounding as i am typing this out

MemberOvomorphApr-30-2012 8:23 PM@everyone:
Don't take the "@everyone" as an understatement...it is just difficult to pick up all your names at once....and yet...I have high expectations for this movie, as Sir Scott, appears to be making an excellent direction work, as he is using CGI effects not to impress, but to only to help tell the story better.
And that's the real place of CGI in any film. Another great thing as he said himself, is that as always, he uses large scale real sets, like the landing gear and the belly of Prometheus, or the cave systems etc. Human eye cannot be fooled however good the CGI. When somthing is real, the eye knows it's real. That's the good thing with large real sets.
Also Sir Scott said he was blessed with a photographic memory, he could just pass through only once from several places, and then be able to sketch in high detail all of them...
So, are we in for a new treat? a new real cult movie? Given the huge loads of effects work we have been bombarded by cinema these days, this will have to be something outstanding. But I belive, good visuals can augment only an already excellent story plot, and can offer nothing to a meaningless plot.
So maybe it's there where we should start expecting much: The unique and genuine story....As for the music...awesome...Ok..a few more days of great expectations...:)

MemberOvomorphApr-30-2012 8:51 PM@MacroBot1234: I think I agree with you...after all, I had to first watch the latest trailer to make the declaration...and possibly make a new one after I see the next new trailer too...sorry for not having hold true to my beliefs...I also hold the hope ,that whatever they would allow us to watch in the trailers, won't even come close to the full spectacle and story...
