scene with space jockey is what ties it in to Alien in last 8 minutes

You may be on to something there,blake_84.Last year RS said there will be NO XENO in Prometheus.But,then he said we would see "ALIEN DNA". I assumed him to mean outright,no Xeno,Chestburster,Facehugger or egg. But,now I'm not so sure.I would think he has to throw something nice to ALIEN fans in this film...more than just the SJ.

Look at the suit gloves on any of the other stills, they all have the three silver studs on them.

Here we go again - another Alien wanabe prequel lover looking for a face hugger or chest burster and somehow hoping the movie gets rewritten to have more Alien BS in it. Maybe a queen or a giant SJ with a facehugger getting infected and then we have our tie in to Alien. Give it up folks this is not an ALien movie.

I think RS stating that this isn't a prequel is nothing more than a red herring. of course it's a prequel and we all know where it's going to lead. if RS says the last 7-8 minutes tie into Alien then we're bound to get a glimpse of some sort of xenomorph, whether it's a queen alien or not. I don't really care if we get to see the classic alien, so long as we get an idea of their origin

Actually according to a lot of reports the last 10 minutes were a closed set, the editor of the trailer didn't have them and the special effects people are only getting bits and pieces of it to work with so they don't even have the full story. So that scene is before the last 10 minutes. It is probably right before the jockey ship takes off and the prometheus rams it.

Ridley has constantly said the last 8 minutes is going to explain something in Alien. This is what we are discussing, what that could be. I am sure the movie is going to have it's own story and until seen is hard to discuss. Why can't we discuss what that tie in might be though? What makes some of you so angry about all this?

There are a lot more creatures in this than we have been shown yet, No the orig Alien/Facehugger dont appear but i do think we can say what does are their grandparents. that makes it an Alien Movie in my book but I may be alone there. also blake_84 take a closer look at the top edges on the glove or gaunlet and then compare them to the one Noomi is wearing in the photo you posted....if that doesnt convince you its a human suit being invaded then nothing will. the timing of its appearance in the teaser shouldnt be taken literally.

@Mr.ventham: i see it now. im on a droid so i didnt before. as far as theories i cant help but shake that the big blue guy is the space jockey and he rapes shaw, lettin off some new DNA thing (facehugger) which sort of resembles space jockeys face for some reason.

Man, the space jockey room in Prometheus looks like shit compared to the one in Alien lol. That first picture is a beaut.

maybe the chair transitions to a higher level or spins like other captians chairs. the star chamber picture does match up to the chamber in alien. plus i cant figure out how "its changing" fits it, possibly to the head

@biomechanic and everyone else I think this issue keeps popping up because of different definitions of "prequel." The purpose of the movie isn't to explain what happened in Alien, which is how Lindeloff and Scott define prequel, that's why they're saying it's not a prequel. However, it will give us an idea of what might have caused the evidence found in Alien. That's basically what Ridley has said. He also said it barely has Alien DNA in it. Anyway I am personally more interested in the new story as opposed to the old one, but it will be interesting to see how they do it. I think it's going to be a far less interesting part of the story when compared to the path of the larger story and the questions it leaves us with. Even if it doesn't give us a concrete answer concerning the original SJ and derelict, I think most of us will be more interested in the questions relating to the new story.

It'll be a trilogy Prometheus, Prometheus II and Alien

@blake_84...i doubt the SJ rapes anyone. i will agree however that Ive noticed that, from what I could see, the "chair room" in the prometheus trailer doesnt fit the one from alien to a T. and again, the SJ seen in the prometheus trailer's seems smaller sitting in the chair than the one they find in alien. its a forgone conclusion that its not the same ship, right? if we're assuming that it crashes back down on the same planet this movie takes place on, unlesss it takes back off, the derelict in alien is a different ship...where that ship comes from is the mystery, correct?

@yhms: i do believe that the sj rapes shaw i dont think thats the real sj face. if you look slow mo at the imax trailer the suit seems to be moving and shifiting around him. the helmet clamping on him on the chair. i think thatd make sense for shaw getting preg. and starting that DNA chain

They're are 5 temples and possibly 5 ships on LV-223. The one we see crashing doesn't look like the derelict from Alien BUT the ship seen in the IMAX trailer underground and a few other shots looks pretty damn spot on.

@CantSpaceJockTheRock Actually, I'm pretty sure Ridley said sequels would not be prequels to Alien. They would delve deeper into the new story and answer the larger questions that are left unanswered at the end of this movie. I think this is as close as we're going to get to a prequel to Alien. From what I understand, Alien is a small branch of a much larger, more important (in Ridley's opinion), and more interesting story.

its definately a human suit, whether or not its a human inside the suit is a different story.
