MemberOvomorphMar-11-2012 11:14 PMI read the first several paragraphs of the "leaked script" and stopped reading for two reasons.
1. I liked where the story line was heading and if this is the actual script, I decided that I don't want it to ruin the mystery and experience for me.
2. On the other hand, I find it very difficult and damn near impossible to believe that this is an actual script because there are way too many spelling and grammatical errors through out it. For example, they're, their and there, you're and your, and it's and its are misused constantly through out. Also, they refer to a "migraine" as a "mind grain" and they call "duct tape" "duck tape". This can't be an official script because any script writer that doesn't know basic high school grammar should not be writing at all.
I can see one or two errors here and there as being acceptable, but with as many as I saw in the first several paragraphs, it makes it very difficult for me to believe that this script is legitimate. An amateur had to have written this.
The one thing that sealed the deal ultimately for me in the first several paragraphs that lead me to believe that this script can't be real: How in the hell is it that the ship's mechanic/engineer doesn't know what an FTL drive is? That's like the main component of the ship. How is he going to fix it if it breaks down?

MemberOvomorphMar-12-2012 7:17 PMGuys and Gals....since when does a legitimate film script need this at its beginning....
"We open on total darkness.
STUDIO AND PRODUCTION COMPANIES CREDITS"
They never do. That stuff is assumed. This Fake trailer, as I now definitely believe, is stating the obvious to the point of stupid. No hollywood script would have that in it....It's ridiculous.

Although it seems legit, I have some issues.
First of all: the script was released one day before the new teaser. It is an exceptionally well done interpretation of the scenes we have seen till now, but less so when we consider the teaser.
For exemple, it really seems that Prometheus will colide with the alien ship _ but some kind of scape pod is ejected from the ship before the collision, somewhat that is not in the script. Also, there is a scene of a guy holding two spheres that are the source of the red laser _ some kind of scanner, maybe _ so it´s clear that they are human artifacts, not alien artifacts as the script make us to think.
And the very end of the script seems exceedingly unlikely, given Ridley´s own declarations, also.

MemberOvomorphMar-12-2012 7:29 PMNo way this is legit. Too many references to many of our discussions and official news tidbits are overstressed. Nice try by someone, but they were trying a bit too hard IMHO.
Someone is laughing at this thread right now...

Not what I thought the script might be, but also not surprising if it were the real thing…

MemberOvomorphMar-12-2012 8:06 PMThe end of that script is just so james cameron feeling. Just ew.

T-Minus-Five
MemberOvomorphMar-12-2012 9:05 PMNNOOOOOOOOO!!!
I just finished reading it. I agree, I don't like the ending. Anyway...
I just have one point to make - why do they keep referring to the Alien space ship as 'the derelict' when a derelict is something that's abandoned, kaput, does not work anymore?
Just sayin'.
I think / I hope / It's fake!

MemberOvomorphMar-12-2012 9:26 PMI read it... All.
In the historic words of Billy Crystal...
"...eh."
It does a nice job of giving us a story that matches the images we've already seen.
Hope it's not the real thing.
I'll be sorely disappointed if it is.
Seems like the writer had never heard of flame throwers before... They got the most screen time.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 12:21 PMhey guys im new to this site. haven't posted as much as I would like. the reason is, you guys have already debated every single picture and frame of this film. so I instead just listened to what you guys are saying and having fun doing so. I'm a member of prometheusforum.net and i usually check other sites to see if any new ideas are floating around. this leaked script was sent to the site i go onto and it was laughed off as soon as it hit.
call me stupid if you will but i read it and thought it was real and i began loosing faith in prometheus but everyone on that site and you guys have changed my mind. I say its fake too. my interest has sparked back up
now the reason i want to post is in case some eager fans read it and think its true. This leaked script may turn people away from the actual film and that would be a shame. remember the same happened with the fake synopsis, then the fake script 'Harvest or something' turned many people away and most of them havent came back.
so if anyone reads this dont be alarmed. it's a fan script and isnt the actual screenplay. my advice for any would be fanfic spoiler writers out there, wait till the Fricken TRAILER comes out before making one up lol.
as for this script, yeah its better than the other fanfics for prometheus but whoever wrote it needs to slow down, do several drafts, correct spelling and improve character dialouge. For example: when you're writing dialouge dont just make words up, let the characters speak as you would and keep the lines simple. i liked the premise
good idea but bad execution. if the faker took time and cleaned it up then MAYBE it would be taken seriously.
my sole reason for knowing that its fake isnt the spelling or dialouge mistakes WHICH is common in movie scripts. look up tarantino scripts and you'll laugh your asses off. but its the fact that in 1983 Ridley Scott said he would never return to science fiction unless he got a brilliant mind provoking script. so we can safely agree that this is fake. But what we will see in prometheus is: to put it boldly is nothing short of HISTORY in the making

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 12:30 PMFirst of all, the spelling errors don't make it "fake". Early drafts have ridiculous amounts of grammatical errors ie 'Pulp Fiction'.... What make's this script an obvious fake is: 1) It's not a feature length script. It's too short. 2) The only parts that don't suck, are the parts where the writer obviously just took what they inferred from the teaser and fused the pieces together (fairly well), but no cigar. 3) This it's obviously written by someone with very little life experience ie a teenager or young adult. The dialogue between Shaw and Halloway are like two prepubescent teens asking "do you like me" .... Also, the rape scene? Really? Was it necessary or interesting? Stupid actually. Last but not least, ending is retarded.

MemberDeaconApr-12-2012 9:23 PMI have read the script and i think its not what the movie will be.
Maybe its a early draft, maybe just fake.
The final movie may or may not have some elements of that script.
A few things i have noticed.......
The Shaw C-Section does not quite match what we see in the Trailers.
There is no explanation or mention to the scenes where one crew member has the Worm/Eel crawl into the tear in his space suit. My money is on Fifield and he mutates into the creature that attackes the crew trying to burn something in the Cargo Bay.
Again Vickers apears to be on the Ship and ejects before it crashes into the Derelict, but in that script she is on the plannet.
There are a few more inconsistancies.
some stuff even if fake may be close, like how Vickers could want to keep Shaws Baby for the Company.
The Script seems to go along with Shaw being kidnapped by the Blue Guy and thats how she became pregnant with Squidy. Others think it was Holloway.
I am going for some other way and this would be the embaracing and shock value scene.
Dont forget the Script does not give any mention to the Tenticle that seems to be chassing Shaw... is that her Baby Grown up.... or the Daddy ;)
I read the leaked Thing Script not all but a fair share, and it indeed was near word for word spot on with the movie and trailers.
This leaked Script however has many holes and things missing from it that clearly are in the Draft.
If it is fake well credit to the writer as a bit more time spent on their story and worded longer and its not bad job, its one that would fit more with a Alien Prequal.
But i think the movie will be different and a little out of the box in how it will happen and maybe a risky move... i expect the un expected and a real Head $£"%
