MemberXenomorphApr-14-2019 3:16 AMI don't know if this interview with Carlos Huante from 26.02.2019 from HNentertainment was discussed, I've seen parts of it in some threads, but not what he said in the end about the future after Alien: Covenat: “I think they’re doing a TV show or something right now."
"When asked about if he knew where it could have gone next after Alien: Covenant, Carlos wasn’t sure.
HUANTE: “I have no idea where it’s going anymore.”
However, he’s still ready and able to do anything Alien related if called upon.
HUANTE: “I think they’re doing a TV show or something right now. Nobody has called me about that even though I have no confidence that TV could pull something like that off I’d still like to work on it because that world is a fun place to play around in.”
I believe Carlos Huante should know what he's talking about.
Could be that TV show we had rumors that Ridley Scott is producing for Hulu?
I'm still hopefull for the Alien Day.

MemberXenomorphApr-14-2019 4:21 AMFirst part of Carlos Huantes interview, where he talks about Prometheus and how just before Ridley Scott jumped in the script was like Aliens (probably he read the script for Blomkamp's Alien 5) can be read also on HNentertainment here.
"HUANTE: “When we met, I had a script in my hand and it was not good. It would have been like Aliens, like an Aliens movie it wasn’t Alien it would have been an Aliens film. There was an army group there fighting aliens with all of them getting killed. It was a shoot ’em up bang-bang film with aliens in it. It was really bad but I knew that wasn’t going to be the script and Ridley had just gotten hired, the art department got hired on. I was living up in Northern California at the time. So they flew me down to meet with Ridley for a couple of days. And so I’m in the room with Ridley, I sit down and he starts telling me the story, the new script, and it’s way better. I mean that [previous] script I had read had nothing to do with what he was telling me.”
If it was already discussed and I missed it, please ignore it.

MemberTrilobiteApr-14-2019 2:01 PMI think a TV series is the way to go.
I finally saw IT and was extremely disappointed. The 90s series with Tim Curry had tons of character and plot development. The new movie seemed like a weak version of Nightmare on Elmstreet and Pennywise would have been bitch slapped by Freddy.
You just can't pack the depth into a theater length movie imo.

MemberXenomorphApr-14-2019 2:12 PMI agree and I am totally in favor of a TV series.
I wonder what Ridley Scott is doing these days, I know he is a busy little bee.
He can't be only sitting for a portrait.

MemberDeaconApr-14-2019 4:06 PMIf anything is in the Works... then ALIEN Day as 40th Anniversary would be the ideal time to let us know or give us a teaser!
Regarding IT! i felt the Clown was more Spooky in the Movie, but it just never quite seemed the same, but the TV Series was a TWO Parts and in Movie Terms the 2017 Movie was in effect just Part 1 so it would be interesting to see how the Sequel/Final Part Concludes, and its not too long to wait ;)

MemberFacehuggerApr-14-2019 5:34 PMThe project is done. Ridley Scott has everything "pronto". The way it's going to be broadcasted, by a movie or by a TV show, it's up to fox and Disney. I prefer a movie. I hope it's going to be a movie. The alien movies are an epic horror gothic space saga. I ONLY want One thing from Ridley Scott in the Next movie, short dialogs, lots of horrible deaths, lots of gore, Battles between engineers, humans and Androids and New monsters created by engineers, David and the weyland yutani company- building better horror worlds. I want to see hell on space. Give us hell, Ridley. Hellxeno!
Ps: i don't want 'Game of Xenos', with a Cersei Xeno. Almost ten long fraking yearS of waiting to watch the end of the story. What a fraking soap opera.
If you want a space soap opera, i give you an amazing soap opera, 'knights of sidonia'. Here's the trailer,

MemberTrilobiteApr-14-2019 5:35 PMThe next IT has the same characters as adults. Big Deal. Pennywise needs to really be evil and actually kill to back the psychological scares.

MemberXenomorphApr-14-2019 6:01 PMsetaverde what about the battle of Carthage in space?
Ridley Scott hinted he would do a sequel to Gladiator and Maximus would return.

MemberDeaconApr-17-2019 5:17 PMLooking at that Interview daliens i get the impression this draft is what Huante had read before he even PENNED a single Concept.... so this ALIENS like Draft was not any of the Alien Engineers Drafts.
Some of those concepts are interesting, especially the 36-38ft tall Alien like Creature. Which its unused design seemed to influence the Concepts that Huante had done for The Arrival, regarding the 33ft ALIEN being.
I like these very ALIEN designs... i would welcome this with a little HR Giger Twist as far as the introduction of a Race who Created the Derelict Technology who either are above the Engineers, or the Engineers STOLE and Re-Engineered their Technology from.
Using something like these as the STARBEAST?
Yes Please.

A movie is fine if they have a good story and well-done characters.
“The alien movies are an epic horror gothic space saga. I ONLY want One thing from Ridley Scott in the Next movie, short dialogs, lots of horrible deaths, lots of gore, Battles between engineers, humans and Androids and New monsters created by engineers, David and the weyland yutani company-”
Doesn’t sound like one thing but more like a ten point list. ;)
There are interesting things that you bring up, some things I agree with and some not so much. You bring up dialogues as long as they are natural and reflect the characters that speak that dialogue then fine but they must be well done. Alien Covenant had better dialogue than Prometheus, it felt more natural which is at least something that it got kind of right. Deaths, you must connect with the characters otherwise we will be at Milburn and Fifield level petting a space snake again. Sure that death was somewhat yuck but the characters were goofballs. Gore, fine but it takes more than that even if they are good at making it seem real.
Humans going up against the Engineers seems like an interesting thing. I am less interested in the android part but if it is done well then maybe but the focus should not be on androids. The focus on that got boring after Alien Covenant even though it was interesting to see the differences between David and Walter, it was too much about them.
Engineers seem interesting, we have not seen that much what they are about this far. Prometheus started to build that up but they were swept under the rug in Alien Covenant. Hopefully they will show us more about that if we get a third movie something that I am on the fence about, it depends on what they focus on (no more David movies, thank you very much).

Thanks for posting these pictures. I prefer the blue one with the long nose, the green one looks too much like some ghost that you could have in some cartoon.

MemberPraetorianApr-29-2019 7:38 AMHere is the video message where Ridley Scott rips us off again in regards to a film or TV series update.
I felt like I've been hit in the head and don't understand him but I believe that:
1) he provides no update and
2) asks us to send him alien films.

MemberXenomorphApr-29-2019 8:00 PMThoughts_Dreams, the green one suits well in the Star Wars franchise.
