Eugene Baldovino analysis of Prometheus

I remember this! Been a long time since I aw this breakdown and yes, it's very well done!

Yeah, I can remember watching this not long after I saw Prometheus. It's very interesting and asks even more questions. One thing Prometheus doesn't need is more questions!

We've been debating the very questions that Eugene is attempting to answer, on this forum, for the past 4 years.

Some of the members may have gotten pretty close to what Ridley is/was trying to tell us.

I guess we will have to wait and see what the answers are in the sequel, (even though I really do not want to know! Because the mystery of the space jockey is what made ALIEN great for me.)

I will obviously feel the pull of curiosity to go and see Covenant solely because of my love for ALIEN.

But yes, good video.

I sooo agree Necronom!! The Space Jockey is still mai number one favorite Lore towards the ALIEN Universe to this day! Re-watched MORBEAST on the PS4 other nite & God when Kane Dallas & (Lacey?) step up the gigantic step to the PilotRoom of the Gargantuan BioMechanical Assimialted SpaceJockey in the Derelict; sooo much mystique intrigue, grimdark, & aweinspiring capsulated in one single scene of Pure Cinematography has mai Heart the most!

It's a good collection of symbolism in the film, but I don't buy his theory in the slightest.

I really want his hat though.

Ancient Astronauts! I grew up on a lot of those shows! Very cool retro vibe.

Necro yes that's true for me as well. The space jockey mystery is what did it for me as well. They should never have destroyed the mystery of it. Though some of giger's earlier work does point to the engineers wearing suits. So it wasn't that far fetched.

Sorry can't find the picture now. But its an engineer lying on its back wearing its suit and elephantine mask. So for me the idea of the space jockey being a humanoid is ok but the whole thing of relating to humanity was crap. 

Extremely well put together Analysis. Not sure about his time travel theory though, and both LV426 &223 are in our galaxy not in another as he stated. I'm hoping that his time travel theory is incorrect for these films, it's just a little too predictable and really unnecessary. I'm off now to download Chariots of the Gods.....

I must admit I never though that David could became a god.

OK, Prometheus has flaws, but when you go over and over again to rethink the hidden message the film just keep becoming more and more interesting. 

Maybe world needs sequel(s) to appreciate Prometheus. And I hope that Ridley Scott will made some kind extended version of Prometheus for Blu-Ray someday and the film will gain in viewers eyes like Alien 3 did.

I'm not sure what they could add from the deleted material that would improve the film to any great degree.  Re-cutting the Fifield monster sequence so it happens as Weyland, Shaw et al. enter the hangar might help the pacing, but it's still going to lack momentum in the second half.

Adding all that cut stuff to Alien3 didn't fix any of the problems existing in the theatrical cut. And created all new ones.

Well David being God, and Humans being Engineers Creators, and Engineers being us from the Future are some of the theories that have been discussed on here before.

Time Travel? Maybe it could play some part but i doubt it, and i hope not but right now anything is GAME...

He also makes a few mistakes, as far as Speed and Distances and of course Galaxies as LV-223 was only 39.5LY Away.

also Leviticus 22:3  had been discussed to and dismissed by some, but who knows it could play a role maybe?

But indeed the Symbolism and Ancient Astronaut connections i think he was very much on the right track.

He did think if i remember that the Urns where like Bagdad Batteries, which is a nice idea... interesting that Genetic Material is broken down to be stored to use as a Power Source, this is very MATRIX like... but when the Source claimed a Matrix Connection i dont think its to obtain power from genetic material like Matrix but who knows and again, the source could be completely false.

I think the Power Source option is a interesting one, but Ridley had said that the ship and so Urns are again Bio-Logical Warfare... or at very least a Weapon that would Evolve Life but by doing so it would be destroyed first in the process.

Just re read some amazing theories on this thread and others. All I hope and pray is that no further over thinking goes into the next script. We need some coherent cannon connection now between all that we consider Xeno lore. Hopefully not too many new mysteries and some solid and expected answers. I want Gigeresque imagery and dark, biomechanical horror wonderment. Too much to ask Ridley?.... I hope not.  

I'd prefer an unexpected answer.

I'm with Big Dave and others. I think he's pretty good with a lot of the Ancient Alien symbolism, but the Time Travel thing seems like too big of a stretch or coincidental or something. Mostly because I hate Time Travel in movies, heh. But I like the guy, I like that he's thought about it and some of the Christian symbolism is great, like the washing of feet. That's pretty blatant.
