Do you think that newly bursted Xenos inherit the memories of their hosts? It would be akin to stealing one's soul if they did. The reason i ask is because the Ripley 8 clone has all the memories of the original Ripley, ie., the nostromo, Acheron/Queen, the prison sacrifice, etc.
If true then this puts another layer on top of the revelations of Prometheus. Fifield returned to the ship to kill because of his mental state when infected, "He wasnt there to make friends." The biggest point if this is true, is that the deacon might actually still "be" the engineer albeit a new, perfected body.
Ripley 8 looks like ripley, thinks like ripley, but is in no way "human". She is like a being inside the perfect armor body. Notice the slime David finds on the Urn room door console, as if a Xeno was trying to operate it and get in. What happened at the end of A:R is very telling as to why the engineers wanted to "clean up" Earth. What if we are to them, what the "baby" was to Ripley 8? It obeyed her to a point but was an Abomination. The look on the "baby's" face when it realizes it will die by being vaccumed out into space screams out "WHY?! Mommy!", all i can see/hear now when i see that scene is Shaw pleading "Why do you hate us?" to the engineer.
There other questions that need to be answered under this premise such as, where are the Xenos/Engineers that "birthed" during the outbreak 2k years ago? Who piled up the bodies? Why didnt they take a ship or ships?
What will be telling is if the Deacon gets into a ship and follows after shaw but ridley already said no more dragons.
Any thoughts?
