MemberOvomorphApr-29-2015 2:59 AMThis theory is a long shot, but I think it may have a bit of merit. This ties in with my Alpha egg idea. If you wish to read it you will have you use the search box to look it up.
I was think that maybe that the goo inside the urns is the engineers( I realize that it's not a orginal idea). They some how disolved themselves into the urns( not really important how ) in hope of prolonging their race.
Once the Xeno have done their work destroying a planet and collecting the DNA in the eggs. Eventually obtaining an 'alpha egg'. The collected DNA is then mixed with the black goo from the urn and an engineer is resurrected. "in order to create, first you must destroy".

MemberOvomorphApr-30-2015 10:31 AMThis is an interesting theory. I belive that the liquid is some form of blood, but not Engineer. There is a possibility that it can be, and the xenomorph is some form of advanced and deadlier mutation of them. However, from the what I've seen with the infections and mural facehuggers, and the engineer's fear of the trilobite, I am a little skeptical of this concept. However it is very interesting.

MemberDeaconMay-01-2015 1:10 PMVery interesting idea.... some of it is in a way what i interpreted as going on as far as yes some organism is disolved to go into the Urns, and yes a Engineers DNA is part of that.. what i saw was the Engineers managed to get infected with some Organism and produced a Organism and they kinda liked the result... they futher re-engineered the organism untill they got the right Face Huger for the job of producing the Deacon in the Mural.
They then Sacrificed the Deacon to use its Genetic Material in the Urns, because these Engineers felt that the Deacon that was from one of their own had more PURE PERFECT DNA as opposed to Engineers and so started to favour seeding Deacon DNA and not Engineer.
But this is just another theory..... their was some significance and need for them to Sacrifice themsleves to seed Worlds and come back over and over, re-evolving us over and over for some greater purpose for their Culture... our creation was their Aim for some purpose that is great to them and maybe their Survival....
But we cant be sure what way they are going with the whole concept.

MemberDeaconMay-01-2015 1:14 PMI will say that someone who passed some info onto me who claims they know someone who has seen some part of the draft or story boarding for Prometheus 2.. has said about such things.
The Xeno is created or its Orgins from something else and Engineer DNA...
That the Engineers are also just clones for some purpose...
And the Goo is the basis for creating and manipulating Life, it is in essence the Blood of the Tree of Life and a Forbiden Fruit.....
And finally the Goo is actually a Micro-Organism that acts like Algae and a Virus.
Is any of this true? Who knows.... but if this person is correct the movie is as of March in pre-production Stages... so hopefully more news should come over the next few months and hopefully after the Movie The Martian

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2015 3:12 PMPrehaps when it was time for the engineer to be dissolved into the urns, he had become infected by the Xeno. Instead of pure blood of the engineer which is in essence the black goo. It became blended with essence of the Xeno aswell. The black goo at the base on LV223 was a mixture of Xeno and engineer.

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2015 12:24 AM@pulserifle187 - corrupted blood ! This is a quite simple and good explanation. Was it an accident, a sabotage or a goal for the engineer to mix their DNA ?

MemberOvomorphMay-09-2015 9:09 AMInteresting concepts but I'm not sure they are supported by the film. A number of incidents support Janek's vew that the pyramids were military installations where the weapon (goo) was produced. Something happened and the weapon turned on the engineers (multiple dead in a pile in the tunnels, face-hugger burns suggested on the cryo-chambers in the bridge area, etc). "THE END".
Of course any and all of this is just speculation. I don't think the murals or green crystal or any other significant questions will be answered in the sequel.

MemberDeaconMay-11-2015 8:22 AMWell Lindelof said that all the Clues are in the movie, that would give all the answers.... but yes they are vague and i think a lot of clues he means are where Cast Members Dialog and Assumptions are their to give us a Clue.....
So yes at some point in time the Engineers had decided to change the outpost to produce a Bio-Logical Weapon, and Experiments that got out of hand...... There is however not enough clues or even counter clues that we can not say for sure the Outpost was intended as a Weapons Facility from the get go... or that can we rule out Sabotage by a Faction who disagreed with the plans....
However while the movie was going a route or so the draft and shot scenes could have led us to.... AFTER EDITING and the movie we got could be turned into a different beast and one that futher supports that YES these Engineers was working on Bio-Weapons and that is their purpose all along...
