MemberOvomorphFeb-19-2015 1:01 AMrI had a thought the other day and no it didn't hurt. What if the base on LV223 actually wasn't a bio weapons base. The base was a 'base camp' for further seeding the universe and not purpose built for the destruction of earth.
My theory is; since the black goo in theory an evolutionary accelerant and one of the main factors of evolution is enviroment . Perhaps an alien contaminated the goo and changed the way it works. I think that the engineers on the ship ( the ship that played the hologram. What was played in the hologram happend elsewhere, not at the base) brought the alien back to the base and it contaminated the goo.

MemberOvomorphFeb-19-2015 9:16 AMI believe an important factor to mention is that the base, whether military or research, was not just intended for humanity, but for other species created by the engineers. This can be seen in cave paintings on an alien planet in the Prometheus/Aliens/Aliens vs Predator/Predator comics.

MemberDeaconFeb-19-2015 9:42 AMWell its hard to say due to the nature of Prometheus and its part Ambigious clues and part thrown some of the parts of the puzzle in the bin method...
And also if the comics are to lend some clues as to the way the Engineers, and Goo are connected and how the Goo can Evolve..
This then leaves a very tricky subject to cover....
ORIGINALLY...
My ideas that i got from the Clues was that LV 223 had some prior purpose connected to the seeding of life on Earth and watching over that creation from a outpost...
Something happened and the biggest Question to that is the Xeno and where it comes into the equation...
1) Something found/came across that ran lose and infected the experiments.
2) Something found/came across that they attempted experiments on.
3) Something created by the Engineers or Elders on Paradise.
And then also how come the Xeno has a connection to the Bio Tech we see in the Engineers Technology and architecture.
My theory was that the Engineers or the faction on LV 223 used LV 223 as a testing station and incubation for new life forms they introduce to Earth, they come and collect some samples and then futher upgrade them and the desired results they then re-seed back on Earth.
Earth is a Garden... LV 223 is like a Green House/Nursery.
Somehow the Engineers either came across or created something either on purpose or my accident that produced something related to the Xeno or even the first Deacons...
Maybe one of them got infected and the result produced a Organism, that had many traits our Engineers saw as very useful, maybe they lost the ability to mate and re-produce? Maybe the Engineers cant and its their creators who can or could, and these Clone Engineers are used as Pawns to seed life in theirs and the Elders Image..
But then on of the Engineers or a few get infected by something related to the Xeno, and produces a Chest Buster... the Engineers then are able to give Birth to a new life.. a some what crude way of reproduction..
The Engineers or a faction then either saw the DNA of said Organism, as having useful traits to harvest... or indeed they saw the resulting Organism that Chest Busted from their brothers as a more Advanced Organism than themselves.
And they saw it then as a more natural Evolutionary Step.. and they then tried to re-weaponize it to then Upgrade Mankind with the same DNA for some reason.
Thats my idea... but again with the Comics, i am not sure it lends much weight now.

MemberDeaconFeb-19-2015 10:12 AMThe whole that Hollogram of the Control Room on the Juggernaught, and the Chest Busted Cryo Pods, could indicate they could indeed had brought something back...
But it does not quite make sense how this event leads to the running Engineers running from the outcome of those Chest Busters, because the signs all point to them being infected with the Goo in a fashion more like Holloway and the Sacrifical Engineer.
Also how can this outbreak from that ship, then kill those Engineers off and then somehow the invected DNA ends up in those Urns..
Only logical sense is something was brought to the outpost and then experimented on to then get into the Urns.... could that had been the Juggernaught the last Engineer was on?
Maybe but then the time frame from something being brought in that ship, to then infecting the crew or more likely then being captured and experimented on to produce the stuff in the Urns would surely be a lengthy period, and do they just leave the other Engineer in Cryo Sleep?
Unless they Qaurantined that Ship and left him on it.

Necronom 4
MemberNeomorphFeb-28-2015 4:43 AMHi guys. There are a few scenes in Prometheus that contradict one another. In films like Alien and Prometheus we get characters that act as commentators to tell us, the audience, what's going on.
In Prometheus, we have Janek and Holloway commentating on what they believe the pyramids are. When they first enter the ampule chamber, Holloway walks over to the mural and say's "It's just another tomb." Later on Janek tells Shaw "It's a military base." So which one is it? Is it both? Do engineers have to die/kill themselves in order to create this weapon/evolution device?
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphMar-01-2015 12:25 AMI'm pretty sure the holograms were simply a recording in the actual Pyramid. I guess proof is in the fact that the headless Engineers was exactly were the crew found it. Janeck, the Captain guessed that this wasn't the Engineers planet, just an outpost as the Engineers would'nt want this substance or weopons anywhere near their home. Something went wrong here. It may have been sabotage, an accident or a vendetta. I still think that the Space Jockey's ship on LV426 is related to the goings on in Prometheus as well. Perhaps in A5 similar holograms will be activated on this ship and we'll find out. I'm guessing that at least one of the Engineers was infected, either by the black goo or by a Xeno. He or she Morphs into a Creature which destroyed the base. Slowly, one by one the othe Engineers were infected and died together trying to escape via the ship. They died, piled up at the door trying in vain to flee. As we know at least one Engineer survived, uninfected and in cryo. Why wasn't he infected? How did he escape the Carnage? Was he the sabatoir? I guess we'll find out soon.
