MemberOvomorphAug-18-2014 10:46 AMWe don't have a sequel yet, but for now this is the closest thing to a sequel :p

MemberOvomorphAug-18-2014 7:29 PMAs much as I yearn for anything new Prometheus, I am saddened that it is now being associated with AVP through this comic book. A Prometheus/Alien comic would be a wonderful concept. But I have always hated the whole AVP thing. The whole idea of it.

MemberDeaconAug-19-2014 3:54 AMI think they are not directly linking them, i think the Prometheus book will plant some seeds to connect to the Xeno and Engineers, and the AVP book will then bridge over with the Engineers but as far as i was aware i am not sure we will see Predators in the Prometheus comics so that it can branch off on its own tangent.
We shall have to wait and see.

MemberDeaconAug-19-2014 8:06 AMTo be honest the Alien series is a funny one...
There are fans who are so disapointed with Aliens and Alien 3 they only Consider Alien as stand alone movie.
There are fans who are disapointed with Prometheus that they dont accept it is Canon to Alien Franchise.
And like wise and more so there are fans who dont agree with Alien and Predator being connected, which all started from the Xeno Skull seen in Predator 2.
But to be honest i dont think the AVP movies did them both justice, the Alien Games series was much better.
And thats to say that a AVP movie set in the same timeline as Alien Franchise for Example after the Events of Alien 3 but before Alien R could work if it is done right.
I would love to see another AVP movie set within that timeframe but done in away that those who follow Alien Franchise does not have to consider it canon.

MemberOvomorphAug-19-2014 9:39 AMI think they can make it work, as far as combining all of the universes. They just cannot make it over the top.

MemberOvomorphAug-20-2014 4:40 PMI agree BigDave! The crossover should be closer to what were the comics and video games (In fact, I'd like to see a reboot of AVP in the future :p).
And Yeah, There is much controversy and difference of opinion in this franchise, and there is no real consensus of what is canon and what is not. So just for fun, these are the types of fans in my opinion:
Purists: Only Alien is canon. Basically they don't give a shit for the rest of the franchise. Also they love Giger.
Postmodern Purists: Prometheus and Alien are canon (probably because both were made by Ridley Scott/Giger). They hate Cameron.
Hardcore Fans: They are legion, and they accept the first three films of the franchise, but hate Alien R, Both AVP films and Prometheus. They love Hicks.
Selective Purist: For those who only accept Alien and Alien 3. They don´t care who made the film, what matters most is that the work maintains its original essence. They hate the Queen.
Fans with Open Mind: Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien R and Prometheus are canon. They love Ripley.
Fans with very very open mind: Everything is canon, EU included. They love the Predalien.

MemberOvomorphAug-21-2014 4:16 AMShambhala- well done. I then am a post modern purist, and Prometheus is a post modernist art film!
I really can't accept the Predator and Alien universes as one. Why not do Independence Day and MIB crossovers as well, then?
But, I'm so starved for more that I'm gonna get all these books anyway. I'm just considering these stories to be alternative, not canon.
Canon: Alien, Prometheus.

MemberOvomorphAug-24-2014 12:41 AMfunny that no one ever seems to mention that the bone Xeno skull in the terrible Predator 2 film is ridiculous as Xeno's have an exoskeleton, not bone....
Anyhow for me its Ridley.... And I actually liked A3....

MemberPraetorianAug-25-2014 2:06 AMHey Shambs...great deduction skills!
HAHAHA I guess I'm kind of a Purist/Postmodern Purist with a wee touch of Selective Purist!!
I will be purchasing all of the new comics though, and I'm willing to accept anything movie reboot/crossover-wise, provided it's done really really well. As both the material and viewers/readers deserve that! :)

MemberPraetorianAug-25-2014 2:09 AMI present David Cronenberg as my director of choice for an AVP reboot! :D

MemberDeaconAug-26-2014 9:51 AMWell i can enjoy the AVP movies and Predators as seperate franchises in alterate universes and so not Canon.
Just as the JJ Abrahams Star Treks to me are not canon but just a alternative universe much like the 1990s Batman movies and the Dark Knight Trilogy i.e they are not directly canon.
