Could this be a Prometheus spin-off?

MemberDeaconApr-24-2014 3:53 AMWell maybe he could make lose connections....
Dont forget that his movie Exidous is based on Egypt Mythos too, and i found this image interesting so maybe he will give little nods to Prometheus.

MemberDeaconApr-24-2014 3:57 AMGoing futher this is what i hopped that Prometheus franchise would have shown, in a part 2 and follow the connection the Engineers had with the Cave Paintings and other clues Holloway and Shaw found.
In my idea and hopes for Paradise i had flash backs to the past, showing brief flashbacks of Engineers interacting with mankind that then is why and how interpretations and ideas around various culture Mythos and Religons came to rise.
And funny enough i wanted to show the Engineers getting mankind to build monuments to them much like the Head Statue in Prometheus..... and basically thats what we see in Exidous, so what Ridley has done on screen in this movie is very similar to some of the Flash Back scenes i was going to have in my idea for Paradise.

MemberOvomorphApr-24-2014 12:46 PMVery cool. I'm definitely of the mind that our cultures interacted more than we know.
They for sure left traces of their culture on Earth when they visited. David was able to trace many languages back to their roots, and re-created their language; therefore they were speaking to us at some point.
From an anthropological perspective, we probably even lived alongside some of them on Ancient Earth. There are similarites between our cultures which may have come from interaction. There are things Holloway notices right away, like "gods don't build in straight lines", and a question he asks about the temple, that show he's comparing them to the way some ancient mound builders made their tombs out of hollowed out mountains or hills, and how humans tend to build in right angles and straight lines. most of the time. It's easy to spot archaeological sites with aerial surveys, it's a common way that man-made features are detected on the landscape.
Ridley's also referencing the Nazca lines in Peru, and how they can be spotted from above.
I think it would be really cool to see flashbacks of ancient man worshipping them, like BigDave suggested. As in the depictions. Maybe they were the first god-kings of Egypt and had a bigger hand in shaping our culture than we know. The god-kings on the ancient king list that were said to live like 300 years, and ruled Egypt before the old kingdom Pharoahs in the pre-dynastic days according to Egyptian myth.. Which most scholars don't accept as actual history, and label as myth because of their long periods of rule...Even though the Egyptians recorded the names and length of rule of each god-king, and treated it as history..
It could mean that somewhere along the line they decided to leave, but continued to visit to check up on us. Then something made them want to kill us.

MemberOvomorphApr-24-2014 3:17 PMEven Sumerians King list talks about the same thing that their "gods" had come down from the sky to teach man and their rules were longer like 1,000 years or even a little but longer. Now its easy to write them off as myth BUT if you look at it like this where time and space and relativity comes into play to explain their long reigns. Traveling through space is a type of time travel remember Ripley being out in deep space for over 57 years, thats only on earths standard of years she actually was floating around for only a few years possibly. Back on Earth time went by seemingly alot faster and when she returned shes over 70 years old but still has her youth.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno
Anunnaki50
MemberOvomorphApr-24-2014 3:28 PMThat would easily explain why they reigned so long and its probably that they would leave and come back during periods of time and place a human ruler in their absence. Until after the Mesopotamian flood which was a natural disaster. They wanted mankind in the region to not be aware of it but when Ziusudra aka Enki's half-breed son survived, Enlil, Enki's younger brother but rightful heir to their father Anu let them live and mankind has been sort of on his own ever since. Even in the OT has people like Abraham, Isaac, and Ishmael had a kind of different patriarchy only those who are born to the "queen mother" are the rightful heirs and since Ishmael wasnt the rightful heir he couldnt inherit Abrams position. It all goes back to the beginning of when ancient man's Anunnaki/Engineers came here and had the same kind of relationship.

MemberOvomorphApr-27-2014 12:06 AMSorry guys, didn't know this had already been posted here.
I can't wait for this series. I've a feeling that some oblique references to ET and Egypt will be slipped into 'Exodus' in some way. By the way, the film has now been retitled: 'Exodus - Gods and Kings' - very topical here don't you think?

AdminPraetorianApr-27-2014 4:21 PMJust an FYI, please, please write all relevant info in the title, so that others may use the 'search' function and be able to find it in archives. Also, write in tags too, that helps the search. IMO no penalty for reposting should happen if an earler post neglected to write a proper/descriptive title.
