Are xenomorphs the oldest species in the universe?

I would hope so! I see them as being a lot more than just big alien insects! More like the perfect personification of pure life, from the dna of some ancient evil. Something that is VERY difficult to kill.

^^ right on dude. When Ridley said: 'What's the Alien doing in Disneyland'? I also thought: g*dd*amn, it's all about this f***ing money, and no longer about the notion behind it all. Within 5 years from now they could have made the ultimate alien movie ( with all the progress that's being made in Movie Land), but noooooo, we had to swallow this 'theory' first. [b]Shame on you, Fox![/b] After all they did to my all-time-favourite franchise, I'm seriously considering to alter my 'religion'. But who am I right?

Sorry off topic Gimmefacehug The ultimate alien movie was written. It is spaihts alien engineer script and it is brilliant imho. BUT P1 was both a solution and curse at the same time BECAUSE Without the whole alien franchose would have died. In the long run p1 is a blessing because then we can discuss it . As you can see from below the point is not to solve it but to discuss it ...... On topic So maybe man evolved from the xeno and it was a primordial dark world where dolphin shaped head was heccary for echo location as there is no light - tubes at back where the water exited that was filtered for oxygen and / or co2 - elongated movable jaw that effective make you able to kill and eat at the same time - no ones going to eat you because you have acid for blood - you can live from the heat of geysers and volcanic flows and you can literally photosynthysize your own food as you have chrolofil inside your skin and just heat and oxygen and co2 water to produce your own food - maybe that wht they are called the perfect oranism ??? You can sense danger hours before at happens and your collective hive mind can tell all of tour kind 1km exactly what's going to happen - shared memories - Perhaps.........

But to me the ultimate Alien script was the ALIEN movie. No pun intended. If they didn't film it, it doesn't exist IMO.

The xenomorph does look somewhat like a dolphin/ whale/ beluga. Point taken :) And the spikes on the xenomorph's back really makes me wonder: was it used to breathe under/ above water? To secrete some sort of resin? Who knows?

They wanted to make scenes in "Alien" where the Xeno is hanging upside-down cocooning someone with material out of its tubes but they were unable to film it because the special effects were too costly and difficult to do at the time. I can't find the video on the subject anymore on YouTube, if I do I will post it. Also you guys, Ridley is the one who initially described the Xeno as an insect. Like an ant.

@Svanya, hello darling! :) How are the kids? I know, I know, that's why I want to know what the 'xenomorph's background' is . There are so many interpretations for this story since Prometheus so... I'm an enemy of (deliberate, non-sensical) ambiguity. haha Greetings to your children, just say there was a really weird guyt online ;) Again, if they didn't film i, I don't care, so I don't know about xenos secreting resin from the tubes on their back. @Gimmeafacehug; This was Ridley and Giger talking, so it was something they did intend on having in the movie, the special effects just could not do it at the time. I'll get the ant video for ya, Ridley is describing it. Also, I don't have any children. Unless you mean my extensive video game collection. :P

I always thought they were used in aliens to hook up with the nest like ambilical pipes used to transfer heat from the cooling pipe water that tr ansfered heat away from the radiators in the cooling towers of the atmosphere processors. That s how they sustained themselves. Might the differences between the alien in alien ans aliens be explained because the stasis filed he went into had eggs slightly different to the ones kane encountered (as they went to a different stasis field and spaihts alien engineer draft said there were 8 different kind of alien eggs each one slightly different and that came from ridley) and that maybe the stasis field the jordan father went in to had a more weaponised facehugger that might actually produce a queen ?? Not all the eggs were created equal !!! Or something like it
