2000 year old Engineer Blood

It's not blood. My understanding is that stuff is a type of conductive gel that allows operation and playback of the hologram system. (Hence the bluish sparkles when David squeezes it between his fingers)

Are you serious you thought electrical gel on the control panel was DNA?! It zapped and sparkled thats NOT blood. Their blood is like ours its RED or dark red the electrical gel didnt get there because of a xenomorph attack, it was 2,000 year old technology left in the elements of nature.

When the engineers head explodes (regarding scene with shaw in the lab and the engineers severed head) some of the 'matter' was green, the same colour as what was found on the panel which david was looking at. I thought the same thing, but what dissuaded me was there is no body.

Yeah the exploding head had green blood, but not sure it's the same substance found on the control panel. Also when the Deacon bursts out the Engineer appears to have black blood (could be due to the dark ligthing). Perhaps the green stuff got on the controls when someone's head exploded that was infected. Who knows....

@Fleshvessel My Question is the area hasn't been touched in 2000 years yet this stuff is dripping? How is that possible? The reason it sparkles could be a demonstration of David's eye zoom ability since to the other humans its just appears an opaque green goop.

No its not blood I reiterate it was never blood! The green sh*t that exploded all over the place is rotted flesh and because the goo changes your genetic material and he was just a dead corpse. Check it out for yourselves its NOT BLOOD.

I thought it might be an anti virus that had to be worn whilst messing around with the black goo. It could be maybe that liquid within the glass of the vases.

My vote is conductive gel, leaking like an old battery. In Spaiht's script they detected electricity in the walls, this is maybe Lindelof's/Ridley's creepier and more mysterious re imagining of that moment?

Yes some form of conductive gel/resin, it contains the same particles as the hologram. But I want to know what left that 'cobweb' just to the top, left of the controls!!

Lol A Cob. Who knows what creatures were hiding all over the place. The planet can sustain life,and the Engineers are using it as a weapons base,so why are they terra forming?? If thats what they're doing?? With that Water.

Why would the green stuff be relevant in any way? Why rationaluze it? It's likely that it's just there ir order to make the set more ominous and alien.

On a recent watching of our movie I notice then green gel being used as packing material in the urn that David opens onboard the ship. What caught my attention was the scenes where the sparklies were present, just like the gel David's finds on the cave control panel , and then spreads his finger and thumb. ('Impressive') Maybe the control panel gel has not been there for 2,000 years. Maybe somebody had opened up an urn and then used the control panel before our crew's arrival.
