makes one wonder... the space jockeys behind the big gun were way bigger than the 8 foot high Engineers. so where do the 2 giants come from ? Q: why is it that Alien 1 was a success ? A: it was realistic behaviour as well as realistic characters. there was protocol of action in an unknown environment, logical behaviour and logical orders followed ... however, in Prometheus 1 there was no such protocol, nor were any of the science characters realistic - only David 8 makes sense & he is a robot. Q: what biologist would forget the golden rule: if it looks like a cobra, behaves and hisses like a cobra then let's play with it ? given the poor text of Lindelof & Spaiths ( = no realistic characters are created.. they are all unbelievable dummies ) as the films rolls along we care for them less and less. gradually we distance ourselves from them in shame, which was not the case of the characters in Alien 1... e.g., the macho female pilot in Alien 1 was great, the courage of the Ripley outstanding, the captian of the Nostromo was strong. Prometheus is about the Alien story ? well, we saw 1 single alien in the last 15 sec of the film. so P1 is not much of an alien movie. something went down. down from the excellence of Alien 1.

okay, this thread's about how RIDLEY SCOTT WILL 'CHANGE THE SCALE' OF AN ONSCREEN item, to achieve a shot that looks like the one in his sketchbook. 1) the space trucker went from 5m to 3m in the space of a cut. 2) the juggernaut and pyramid changed scale dependent on the needs of the shot :) Anything else, make your own thread.
