Least Favorite Scenes in Alien Franchise

I think my most hated scene was in aliens CM during the escape set, the exploding xenos in the sewer. the graphic were so bad and the set was so lame. 2. the alien in alien 3. bad CG which made it shit. 3. all of alien 4 4. the end scenes of alien 3, when ripley falls backwards into molten metal and aliens busts....she seemed to relaxed with something exploding out of her chest. I like the extended version better (way better).

P1- the Hammerpede in Millburns helmet, I feel like they could have done a lot better with the animation, and it's color didn't match.  A1- exterior shot of the Nostromo after it lands. The little lights look very much like little lights, spoiling the sense of scale. The Lambert scene doesn't work for me either, the soft focus, silhouetted foreground Alien still looks and moves like a guy in a rubber suit. The detonation of the Nostromo looks very animated. A2- the Dropship deploying its missile banks was awkward looking and, to nit pick, should have happened before it entered the atmosphere. A3- agreed on the suicide scene, and the overall art direction of the factory left something to be desired. Agreed too on the CGI creature, wrecked the whole movie. A4- too many to list.

Zz- exactly. So two less than aerodynamic missile banks swinging out in flight should send that thing spinning to a fiery doom! But that's why I called that complaint nit picky, I'm walking that line between fact and entertainment that I'm ordinarily happy to overlook. Besides, maybe it wasnt flying, just dropping. Anybody? Was that the case?

A3 - CG Alien sucked!

Major Noob - for the life of me I don't know what you are refering to in Aliens, the first drop ship? When did it deploy its missles? The second drop ship also same question. Regarding the main question, there really are a lot of scenes that I didn't like even though I am in general a fan of the first 2 alien movies and also Prometheus. The tone of the 3rd alien movie was depressing and yes the alien CGI was horrible. Alien 4 was bad but there were a couple of cool things in it like the aliens underwater and the idea that Walmart won the corporate war over Yutani and Weyland. That was kind of funny.

nostromo- when the Dropship first enters the LV426 atmosphere, two sort of wings with what appear to be missile banks unfold from its body. It looks much like something from Terminator, in fact. But they unfold quickly and without symmetry, the motion lacked elegance. It looks like a model, which for me was a weak note in an otherwise powerful sequence. I don't remember the Walmart thing, that is funny and shall we debate if its canon? Ha. I guess that would also account for the overall tone of the movie. But I do agree there were some great moments, in fact it was overall more fun to watch than A3, which [i]was[/i] depressing. But A4 was really corny.

OK I know what you are talking about now. I think it was Sid Mead that had something to do with that design and didn't like it either, as it looked too flimsy. Regarding A4, it was the scene when Ripley 2 was talking to the 2 scientists at the dining hall and the second scientist, the one who shot Cole or Call or whatever her name was, came in and asked what they were talking about when Ripley said everyone in the company will die and he was wondering what company they were talking about. The second scientist explained about the corporate war that had taken place during the 200 years that she had not been alive. That was where the Walmart statement came in to play and yes that makes it cannon, for what its worth.

Holy Cow. So until further notice Walmart is trying to control the Xeno? THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.

nostromo001 Hi there Sorry I have to ask I don't remember anything about walmart. What I remember was gediman and Ripley clone was having a conversation when Ripley said : my baby does it grow ? She'll breed youl die. Everybody in the company dies . Gediman: how did you know ..... What company ? Wren: Weyland Yutani . TeRraforming conglomerate . Or something like it . But I can't remember anything about walmart being said . No offence I just can't remember it. I am aware of walmart buying Weyland-Yutani but I wasn't aware that it was mentioned in a4 . Please help

To all Least favourite scene. The crew in prometheus having to return due to the storm just as things were starting to get interesting.

My least Fave scene is in Alien3 when you find out Hicks and Newt died in the crash... So bummed out when I saw that. :( AMG you guys, there is no CGI in Alien 3, they used puppets (btw I agree it doesn't look great). Well there was, but only in one scene. i realise when the dropship opened its missile bank , that they didnt open with symmetry. but i did notice when they did open the dropship banked slightly, thus indicating an aerodynamic effect. To me the dropship is one badass piece of equipment. oh and i think that they didnt open their missile banks too late, about perfectly actually

I think alien 3 is pretty good, i will never understand why people hate it so much. Idont care so much for the special effects being low key, i like stories. But i agree with most of you, the special effects i A3 is indeed very crappy.... Aliens ressurection is by far far one of the worst movies i have EVER seen in my life. I remember liking it as a child....becuase it is made for children to like it. Shit dialoge, shit characters and shit ideas. Alien 4 is the only movie they are aloud to link to AVP as canon, cuase they´re just as bad. Its like the scripts for AVP and A4 was taken from the same ideabank . and yeah...there is one scene in alien when you see the tail of the creature slowley as its trying to grab someone....it looks very bad....

newt and hicks being killed off in alien 3 . the APC having a tank turret which they never used Alien 2 . whe Ripley was driving off in the APC hicks say something like you have blown the trans axle ease off It was still moving I would have kept going all the way until the wheels fall off Aliens 2. Alien 4 when the guy gets acid spit on one side of his face which only does a little damage but doesn't kill him but all a sudden he starts loosing the ability to hold on but still able to cut his belt and fall into the water and die WTF? Aliens 2 why did the dropship park up with it doors open it should have returned to the sulaco . Im going to watch more tonight still love them all to bits.

i agree with them landing and leaving doors open. at least shut them. maybe they dont work that way, but do something to stay protected

The Dropship was practically at the target site when it deployed the missile arms, and they were travelling at a quite modest speed. If they'd been deployed prior to atmospheric entry, whilst travelling at several miles per second, they would have snapped off.

My dear zz- I think you may be unclear on my position, we're saying much the same thing. It's just that my memory of that scene is that it was roaring through the air when those things came out. I stand corrected. But it did look goofy. Just sayin.
