MemberTrilobiteJul-06-2012 3:37 PMOkay guys a simple thread from me for a change, kinda...
When David gets Vickers her robe we have the following conversation...
Vickers
"ROBE...HOW LONG"
David
"2 years, 4 months, 18 days, 36 hours, 15 minutes"
...excuse me 36 hours???
And another thing...
They come out of hyper-sleep on December 25th 2093...
...And Shaw and David leave in another Juggernaut on January 1st 2094...
...Thats a week, but we only see one night pass

MemberTrilobiteJul-08-2012 3:09 PMActually b5historyman the crew of the Prometheus are awoken on December 25th, not 21st (thats showing David alone for four days), as supported by Janek putting up the Christmas tree and Holloway statement "It's christmas and I wanna open my presents".
Also I am currently writing an extensive chronology on all 10 movies.

MemberOvomorphJul-08-2012 3:40 PMSaid December 21st 2093 on the print I saw as Prometheus. approached LV223. Since I've only seen the film twice, I kept mental notes. As you can appreciate you can't scribble notes in the dark. Just because Janek put up a christmas tree doesn't make it December 25th either. Since most people tend to put trees up before then at the very earliest the crew were awoken would be the morning of 22nd December. You got no real sense of the time you saw David going about his routine although it would appear to be a day by all accounts.

MemberOvomorphJul-08-2012 3:48 PMI will study the film closer when I get a dvd of it. If you want the dates of the Alien films I worked them out years ago. The shortened version of my timeline material first appeared in Facehugger magazine that was produced by the Aliens Fan Club back in the 90's.

MemberTrilobiteJul-08-2012 3:53 PMTo help you out...
both Janek and Holloway state "It's Christmas", which infers December 25th, had it been pre-december 25th they would have said "It's nearly/almost Christmas". Also, adding another 3-4 days just makes the time issues in mentioned in the OP even more problematic

MemberTrilobiteJul-08-2012 3:55 PMAs for the dates from the previous films, I've already logged em from studying the movies.

MemberOvomorphJul-08-2012 4:02 PMAgain, it only infers, not says its December 25th, If it was they would be saying its Christmas Day wouldn't they? Janek putting up a tree and saying he wants to open his presents, well who wouldn't before Christmas day. The truth of the matter is the timeline is a bit wonky anyway. When I compiled the timeline for the original Alien movies it took some working out especially for Aliens and Alien 3 determining what took place between these movies. yes I also did a bit on AvP too but you will already know that as well from one of my other posts. Anyway am siging off as my job requires I have to get up at 5.30 am GMT. You only have to ask, I am not precious about sharing I just expect a credit where its due and that's all...
