MemberOvomorphApr-29-2012 5:00 AMThese tooltip things that appear when you select a link are driving me crazy.
On an iPad you need to double tab or more every link to move between pages.
Sometimes the tooltip appears and obscures the link entirely making it inaccessible
They are horrible, do you really need them

AdminEngineerMay-01-2012 10:39 PMYou really find them that in the way? I don't notice any problems with them at all.

AdminEngineerMay-02-2012 12:20 AMIf anything I find they add more to the site.. I'd like more feedback on this though. If more people feel we should ditch them, then I will. But I'd like more opinions before I do anything.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 3:59 AMOn a pc they are not a problem. On an iPad, clicking a link brings up the hover tip. You then have to click the original link again! Assuming the hove tip hasn't been placed ontop of the link as it so often is.
I don't think they are iPad friendly? Just my 2 cents

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 4:08 AMYes I agree unfortunately, on an iphone and an ipad the popup actually prevents you from clicking on the link, more an Apple problem than a prometheus problem but it can be inconvenient.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 6:26 AMI agree. I also use an iphone, and sometimes it is impossible to open any links because they are blocked by the tooltips.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 7:00 AMI use my iPad a lot for this site and the hover popups are a nuisance. I'm a web developer and this is not something I would have implemented at all.
Unfortunately I can't modify the Javascript runtime engine on iOS to ignore those JQuery calls so I'll have to live with it...
Hey guys, please consider us using mobile devices! A simple CSS class targeting us with visibility: hidden for the tooltips or adding an agent check routine in the tooltips.js file will solve the problem.

AdminEngineerMay-02-2012 4:43 PMOkay, thanks for the feedback guys! I'll either removed them or make it so that mobile browsers don't load them. Expect that update shortly.

MemberOvomorphMay-05-2012 12:43 AMAlthough I mainly use PC, I also use my Nook Color (while still at home) and Windows Phone (when away). I have no issues on the PC and Nook Color, but I do on the Windows Phone.
