MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 4:37 AMI wonder where Weyland got the technology from to Build Better Worlds?
Is it perhaps that Peter Weyland stole the technology of terraforming.....and that is why he named the ship Prometheus.
Perhaps Peter Weyland IS Prometheus in a sense?

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:31 AMMaybe Weyland stole God's fire earlier than everyone expects. Could that flame have been closer than we think: JIMO

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 7:19 AM@Biomechanic That's what I suspect. Something Shaw's father found as a missionary that got young Shaw involved with the company and archaeology; and Weyland was able to fully excavate it at that time off screen with company men. However, it doesn't tell him where he's going, just gives him an edge in the industry and brings Weyland corp into the golden age.

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 4:25 PMI think you're all onto something. Weyland seems to have some kind of advanced secret technology already that is fueling the incredible growth of the company, no doubt found while exploring other "seeded" planets for terraforming purposes. This is also the key to the secret behind why cybernetics has surpassed terrraforming as the number one paradigm of the Weyland Corporation(according to the the Weyland website). My guess is he knows exactly what they are going after on the mission. And he's willing to get his hands on it at any cost, whatever it is. Those who speculate on the Weyland/Yutani merger that eventually happens could surmise that whatever the results of the Prometheus mission, it completely ruins Weyland Inc. financially and ends in economic disaster for the company. Therefore the merger.
Just more thoughts!
