some interesting ideas in the concept work....  than a standard Alien movie.... oh look someone went back got the Derelict (i.e like Colonial Marines Plot) and then just a repeat of that Game with Ripley.

I think potentially it could be made... depends... if not i am sure the ideas could be used for sure to make a draft based off it (i.e no Ripley) if say Weaver is tied up, they could always do a Alien 5 that directly has a Amanda Ripley or Newt.

I think right now, Fox has a lot of Projects with Alien Covenant and no doubt they are not going to set it up with a ending to then wait 5 years to release the sequel... so i would say Fox has its Predator, Alien Covenant and a Alien Covenant sequel on its cards over the next 2-4 years..

If AC sequel feels like it needs a 3rd movie, i guess Fox will gauge does that come first or Alien 5, and if Predator 4 does well maybe Fox may priorities a Predator 5 too.

Weaver will be busy over the next 5 years too... with Avatars... and so i think it was a case of it was going to happen... then ideally Alien 5 should have been worked on late 2016 to early 2017.....  as after this... well Weaver would be busy.

So its a case of how does a Alien 5 come into play when shooting with a 70-72 year old Miss Weaver and a 63-65 year old Michael Biehn 

As time goes on they have to consider it limits the action based elements with Age of the cast... and then a Potentially 78-80 year old looking Bishop...

I think right now Fox and Ridley want to tell the Prequels and if David the Android or likeness is to carry on for TWO more movies... well surely they wont want to come back and shoot the final part in 7-8 years time with a older Fassbender...

So i think any movie that will carry on with Fassbender and Waterston which is likely the sequel to AC they would want to be getting shot i think within 2-3 years Tops. A 3rd movie would depend if either of these are in it.... if they intend to then i think again Ridley would want to get them all done by 4-5 years...

So sadly with Avatar movies.... a Alien 5 may have to be re-wrote a bit to give Ripley a more relaxed back role like Carrie Fisher (R.I.P) had with Leia Organa in Force Awakens.  As its unlikey Alien 5 would be shot within next 3 years.
