Can't wait to hear from you ;)

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 2:34 AMWell, there are documented cases of two-headed snakes and other oddities in Nature. Hmmm, interesting thought I must say. :)

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 2:36 AMahh :) you all have seen where im going with this haha!!
Yes the warden was the only inmate not confirmed dead on-screen.
Morse left with the rescue team alive. Golic, Yoshi and Arthur all were not seen again after Clemens was killed triggering the hunt, but their fates were explained and confirmed dead in the assembly cut. It could also be argued that Aaron (85) was not at least mortally wounded (at least for awhile) after being shot by the WY guards.
I just need one. Quickly. The move on into the bowels of the prison....then back into space, but that is a secret lol
Thanks heaps for the encouragement guys!!!

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 2:39 AMBLACKWINTER-WITCH - A genetically-flawed Runner would be a horrifying thing in my opinion! I can imagine its body language as shaky and uneven at points as its pair of heads look about. Perhaps one of the heads is dead or nearly lifeless? That would be even more ghastly! :)

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 2:41 AMIRAPTUS - You are most welcome! I very much hope you write this story! I have no doubt it would be extremely engaging! :)

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 2:43 AMYou're welcome!! Yeah, drop an idea off around here, and Things Happen. :) Namely pirhana-like speculative analysis and ponderings :D

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 2:46 AMInteresting idea...I like the shakiness, maybe this one is hyperactive, shaking from a chronic 'adrenaline' overload? Not sure about the dead-head...but one head could be, say the Quiet one, the other is the Hyper-aggressive bite-everything type?

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 2:49 AMBLACKWINTER-WITCH - Oh! I quite like the idea of one head being more pensive while the other is more fiesty! That would be decidedly unsettling! :)

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 2:58 AMYeah, and when facing it, you'd have no way of knowing which one would be the one to decide/deliver your fate. ;)
I'm fairly good with monster-designing, and non-monster designs...RE; extraterrestrial housepets. Right now I'm working up some alternate facehugger designs and concepts for ALIEN: Manticore; Paradise. Let's just say that Kane and the crew of the Nostromo should be posthumously glad he didn't encounter one of my beasties. :)

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 3:03 AMBLACKWINTER-WITCH - How excellent! I very much look forward to seeing what you have in store! The design of creatures and monsters is always quite fun - thrilling to a large degree if the creation is something we enjoy! Facehuggers are such dreadful little things; I am exceedingly curious about the iterations you are interested in creating. :)

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 3:12 AMGlad you're looking forward to what I'm working on! I agree, creature-design is always fun, whether it's meant to be deadly or just Interesting.
Facehuggers, agreed, they're the stuff of Nightmares, but David's been experimenting, and Manticore is set in 2137, so 33 years after COVENANT, and he was tinkering about for a decade previous to COVENANT...there's a lot of room for 'things' and various versions, almost-successes and too-successful-failures...add in random evolution and all that sort of stuff...things would get Interesting.
Also, sometimes, not everything that looks and acts like a facehugger is actually a normal facehugger. But don't worry, I won't be bringing in Queens. :)

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 3:15 AMBLACKWINTER-WITCH - Facehugger Queens? There are such things as those? How remarkably horrid! :)
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 3:18 AMSorry, gave the wrong impression, but in queen-based canon there's special facehuggers that implant a Queen chestburster.
I won't be bringing in Queens, so don't worry. But some things that look and act like facehuggers have very different purpose to their actions. ;)

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 3:22 AMBLACKWINTER-WITCH - Oh, I see! Hmm...what purpose might these doppleganger facehuggers have? I know; I must wait to learn more until you present more. However, it is always fun to speculate. :)
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 3:35 AMGood question, and I'd LOVE to say, but you'll find out with ALIEN: Manticore; Paradise.
I can say this: There are MUCH worse fates than chestbursters.

MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 11:17 PMIm new to this whole FanFiction idea, i think its a great way for fans and franchise-owners to build and extend the lore of their universe together. I mean reading all the threads on here shows how us hardcore fans have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the Alienverse.
so my question is; what is the legality standpoint of fanfiction and what are the chances of Fox picking up and licensing or at least acknowledging a fanfiction story? Are some franchises more tolerant of fans writing it their 'verses than others?
Very curious.
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianApr-07-2017 11:42 PMSo long as you don't try to make any Earnings off Fanfiction, NP, as it's under 'fair-use' laws. BUT, Fan-fics do get noticed and Licensed, as example '50 Shades of Grey'.
Various franchises are more lenient and others like Star Trek are way more draconian.

MemberPraetorianApr-08-2017 12:22 AMThanks for the answer Blackwinter Witch!
50 shades of grey started as a Twilight fan-fiction right? interesting.
It would be nice if during the clean-up of the Alien Franchise Fox separated releases into Canon and Legends as you mentioned earlier. But also added Lore for acknowledged for fan-fiction stories.
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianApr-08-2017 12:26 AMYW :)
That's my understanding of 50 Shades, yes. :)
I really hope they do such a departmentalization, then they won't antagonize a lot of fans who enjoy the post-ALIENS works and such.

MemberPraetorianApr-08-2017 12:44 AMYeah the idea for my fan fiction story has evolved away from using Fury 161 or any Alien 3 references at all for that very reason!
Im now going with an asteroid that uses convicted prisoners to mine it for heavy metals. A mining ship is tethered to the asteroid above as a warden outpost. Very isolated. It has of course gone dark.
An advanced prospecting colony ship pings the asteroid revealing a spectral anomaly within the asteroid. They investigate......
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianApr-08-2017 12:55 AMSounds good! Asteroid and such, a ship involved also...rich environmental choices for scenes!
