MemberOvomorphMar-25-2014 2:15 PMReally, I watched on Youtube "Prometheus explained" and this moment was also among others, but still it sounds unconvincing from the pure human behavior stereotype viewpoint: she's bloody somehow rush in Weyland's SECRET appartments, and no one says anything on that, nor David and these two scientists, who just tried to get her back to cryogenic chamber (or whatever it's called), ask her about that "creature" and take preventive measures against possible alien organism or try to stop her from coming to Weyland's room and strangely Shaw herself doesn't call to kill it!!! Your thoughts.

AdminPraetorianMar-25-2014 2:26 PMShe was totally in shock from the experience and the pain. One version had Weyland react and be kind to her. I know it's in the script and I thought there was a cut scene that was filmed: Weyland says to Vickers "This woman's been through a horrible ordeal, Ms Vickers. Please leave us".

MemberDeaconMar-25-2014 3:48 PMWell David was attending to Weyland, and he left Shaw in the hands of Ford and another crew member, we have to assume that David and Weyland would not been aware of Shaws escape from being put to sleep for transportation back to Earth, not untill Ford etc woke up after being knocked out.
By that time she may had already been in the Medipod.
Yes we do then get some maybe plot holes well just things happen that we would not expect a Ship with Weyland and Davids Agenda to had done...
We have to assume that no soon as they found out Shaw had removed the Trillobite, David knew it would at best be frozen sample that he can run tests on, so even if it was dead. He would be able to run tests on what it was and how it came to be and thus get some ideas of what the Goo can do.
Once they realised the Organism had survived and was growing, they would maybe feel that the Room is secure enough so that the Organism can not escape and that David and Weyland would wait to when they got back from seeing the Engineer before they decide what course of action to do with the Trillobite.
As far as Shaw goes, welll maybe she would feel she had done enough to deal with the Baby Trillobite that she removed from her, also this would have been a traumatic experience and ontop of that we cant be sure what the Pain Medication would have done... so she may not be 100% with it.
Then she finds Weyland and this must had been a massive shock to her, and so she would been preoccupied with him and how he says that all the Engineers are not dead. This is what Shaw is looking for as its what she came all this way for, to meet our creators and so the things she took out of her in the Medipod would be at the back of her mind at this moment.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2014 6:42 PMI think by that time we are to understand that all reason has jumped out the window and the true purpose of the expedition is in effect: Weyland's pursuit of immortality. I found the whole thing to be surreal, especially with Fifield going berserk in the garage. It's that whole mindf**k where no one is behaving the way you expect them to, which also heightened the sense that she was majorly drugged. What's real, what isn't?
A lot of people had a hard time with that but for me it was another touch of sort of sixties British Psyche Thriller that was all over Prometheus. My bet is that the weirdness and disconnection of that scene were intentional.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2014 6:47 PMShaw thought the sterilization procedure in the med pod killed the creature because it appeared to be dead as she stumbled out of the room.
Also, Weyland was not in some secret apartment when Shaw found him. It looked like one of the labs from previous scenes.

Where can I find that deleted scene that you mentioned?
Thanks
Svanya
AdminPraetorianMar-28-2014 1:31 PM@Pulserifile; I'm pretty sure I saw it in some footage, I really don't remember where. Maybe I am mistaken and it's only in the script. Basically Weyland pities her and tells the guards she just went thu hell, something like that. It's in the same timeframe as the cut scene of Vickers commenting to Weyland about the alien that came out of Shaw: "...maybe you should look at the thing squealing next door......" Unless of course I have completely lost my mind and it was only in the script, where he says : "This woman's been through a horrible ordeal, Ms Vickers. Please leave us".
It's been over a year since I looked into anything Prometheus so give me some time to find it.

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2014 11:31 AMIt's as inexplicable a lapse in contextual logic as the fact that no one says a single word about Mutant Fifield's assault on the dock that kills between 1/4 and 1/3 of the total crew if you count Fifield.

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2014 2:27 AMThough now havening rewatched for the third time I'm beginning to understand this scene: they wanted to put her back in hypersleep to freeze that creature, however she managed to get rid of it by herself. So, when she came in Weyland's appartment all these guys looked at her with some degree of concern and seeing her bloody body made clear for them what happened to her. Besides, they had more important mission waiting ahead to conduct than to investigate how she managed to survive.
But considering Fifield, I indeed find it strange that we weren't shown any sign of their awareness of what happened to Fifield and the crew he killed - Janek had to tell them normally. But it maybe due to multiple edits and reshots of the scenes that could possibly confuse editors. Or it could be overlooked in the process of scriptwriting.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2014 3:42 AMI agree. I think some panick would have afflicted the remaining crew after the Fifield attack. Surely some of the remaining crew would be scared that this sickness could be air born. I also agree that the reaction to Shaw roaming around after her proceedure would have raised eyebrows... After all she had attacked two of the medical crew, possibly seriously harming at least one. It's almost as though the whole pregnency didn't happen at all.. Along with the rather unscientific actions of some of the scientists I fear these scenes could have been slightly more realistically handled.

MemberPraetorianApr-17-2014 1:38 PMWell, I'm now past the stage of making 'allowances' for inexplicable crew behaviour!
I mentioned something about the complete indifference to 'cuddles' in my review of the film.
You'd think someone would at least mention the damn thing! See if it was alive or dead, want to gather a specimen, or even kill it, cause let's face it, even the superior Engineer couldn't cope with it fully grown!
It has always bugged me that David went to all that trouble to have Shaw impregnated, then after the birthing, even he doesn't show any interest in the end result!
The only person who does mention it is Vickers, but that was in a deleted scene!
