SETI's search for aliens

Carl Sagan is one of my favorite astronomers/physicist he helped SETI I think.

We dont need SETI... and chances are they would not allow us to see anything concrete they would have caught. All you need is a clear night in a area with as little or no light pollution as possible and some 10X + Binoculars, 20X is better or ones that you can adjust to higher but have a 20X setting.. Then just spend a good 2 hours a night scanning the sky, and you will capture some truly bizarre things.. I see things like this quite often, well every night only sometimes they have as bizarre flight patterns and interaction as this video and cant be passed off as Meteor, or Satellites etc etc. [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbLQ-_rp064]Dundee UFO[/url] Certainly more fruitful than watching the SETI Screen lol.

Well for now it is one of the reliable methodologies of science, but in my opinion is a little outdated, quite limited and possibly the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wow!_signal]Wow! signal[/url] was one of the few promising results. Anyway the enormous distance in the universe make this exciting activity almost impossible. Unless the astronauts can someday visit Europe or Titan. Maybe even on Mars they can find vestiges of the past of some type of extinct life forms in fossil or some kind of bacteria. Two other possibilities...that aliens are silicon-based life forms...or...that they visit us. Despite considering myself a bit skeptical, there are cases of anomalous aerial phenomena (which are not unidentified objects, but instead something more abstract) and after a research stay in the unknown. However these could be some kind of natural phenomena. But while there are authentic cases of UFOS, but we can not be sure that these objects are of extraterrestrial origin, it could be of human origin, who knows (Occam's razor). But if they were: 1) Where did they come from? and How is that these objects can travel vast distances in space? because space travel is hard work. 2) if they visit us...Why They Do not invade us? because for sure they could make better use of our resources...Don't you think? Anyway I reiterate the possible human origin, and could be some kind of prototype military aircraft or spacecraft under development...or...the irrefutable proof of time travel, and after these words, I don't know how the hell I can considering myself as a skeptic lol

It's very, very likely intelligent extraterrestrial life exists but I think we are at least 200 years away from encountering it.

Carl Sagan actually has said alot of good things about the old Anunnaki Sumerian story of the "fishmen" or Greek "telkines". He said that because the way they were portrayed and mentioned as wisdom bringers that they could have been pre-historic Contact with star people.

I think we humans are too pathetic and small right now to make any kind of judgement on how did they get here. Its called advanced technology and knowledge of physics that is how they get here.

Indeed in the long chronology of the universe; the origin, rise and death of a civilization is only a tiny spark in the space, even less than the blink of an eye.

But beyond all, I agree with the scan of the sky on a clear night, because without doubt you can find interesting things that could be of extraterrestrial origin.

Bigdave, thanks for that YT link - very convincing. I'm a firm believer in the UFO phenomenon. Have you ever listened to Coast to Coast AM? It's a US radio show covering current affairs of the subversive type and mainly world paranormal journalism with guests from all walks including actors, authors sci-fi genre people and scientists/ex military and NASA - totally fascinating accounts - check it out.

The first ship, with a crew of 8 (4 of which are scientists) will investigate the giant structure. The second, with a crew of 10 (2 of which being scientists) will investigate the planets surface. The giant structure turns out to be a Gigeresque observatory and space station (alien of course.) The planets surface, at first, seems to be devoid of life, until, the crew stumble upon a deep man hole like structure. What awaits them is Hell itself... The tag line reads: "In space, the s**t will hit the fan" Haha

They are already here and their are many different races they have been coming and going for years all have different agendas the government gets their old technology while they get human test subjects and what ever else they need all manner of government officials have come forward from NASA astronauts military CIA to the Canadian defense minister . Bill Clinton said there is a government inside the government and I don't have access when he tried to get info on the UFOs and it only take 1% of the UFO sightings to be true imagine how much our world would be turned upside down if they lifted the embargo on the truth all this out of our world technology stock markets would crash the oil industry would Finnish just think about it

Yeah well the Proof is in the pudding and until any Aliens start appearing in large ships all over the place like say in the TV Series V etc... And with the Tech we have today, its hard to confirm what would be a hoax or real, and unless you actually see a UFO up close or a Alien then i guess for yourself there wont be 100% proof... A lot of stuff is misidentified, but for me the Videos like i linked are what i see and we can rule out.. 1) Space Debree 2) Meteor or Space Rocks/Dust 3) Any known Flying Craft i.e planes etc. 4) Traditional Satellites But thats not to say they show Aiens or Alien craft, what those videos could show is secret surveillance Space Craft or highly maneuverable Satellites, that the Governments simply do not want everyone to know about.

As far as Seti and the possibility of life out there... Well the Galaxy is so vast, never mind the Universe. Kepler telescope was meant to find Earth like Planets or at very least Suns that meet our Suns Characteristics with Rocky Space Bodies that are a similar distance from those Stars as say Earth or Mars is from our Sun. Well they have not only surpassed what they hopped to find, they have far far surpassed and have concluded that Stars that are very like our Sun are far more common than we first thought. It is most likely that planets are out there that can support life, but can they support Human Life and have they had Evolution to a degree to produce anything remotely as advanced as even Mammals and Birds is something we cant prove.. Its now being more speculated that if Mars had a Ozone and Atmosphere like ours and Water then it would have been able to support Life. Maybe not like Earth, but certainly to a degree that some of the most inhospitable placed on Earth could.. Its is speculated that had the Moons. Titan, Europa and Enchiladas was as close to our Sun as our Earth then they would have a very good chance to support life.... Like LV 223 would support some kind of natural life, maybe the Worms are such habitats. So there is a chance there would be moons and planets like LV 223 in our Galaxy that can support some kind of life, but would still be too hostile to support life like Mammals and Humans etc etc.

@Hades Infernal Good point about Advanced Technology..... Lets take Water, our World is covered in it.... Water can break down in to various Elements and combined in various ways to make Powerful Energy sources... I think the Governments have Technology to produce almost unlimited clean fuel from Water... The Question is Why dont they...... Answer is it would make Oil, Gas, Coal and other Fossil Fuels worthless, Gas would be as worthless as Rain Water is now... this would cripple the Economy of the World.

UFO's definitely do exist. But i'm not convinced that they are extraterrestrial crafts. Some can be explained away as natural phenomina or secret military projects. However, I believe that some of these sightings cannot be explained as terrestrial, but i'm still not convinced that they are ET space craft. I would be more inclined to suggest that they are more likely to be Time Travelers from thousands or maybe even millions of years in our future. I know it sounds very far fetched and "out there dude!" But you never know. Who knows, maybe these "Greys" are what we will eventually look like in millions of years? LOL @Hades Infernal and Big Dave, regarding advanced technologies being withheld from us, that is VERY likely! The energy companies are so powerfull now, that they can literally get away with whatever they want! Not even the governments of the world can regulate them to any great effect (not like they would do anything anyway,) they have us all by the dangly bits for sure!
