Cry Havoc
MemberOvomorphFebruary 26, 2013Just watched Prometheus again last week. I noticed that Cuddles has hair. On the top of it's 'head'. I only caught it in one view point after it attacked the Engineer. And then saw little wisps on a YouTube video I just watched.
Another person mentioned that it has a spine.
To me, it just makes it more creepy. And reinforces that it's 'Shaw's son'.
Anybody else notice this?

Of course its impossible to take this post seriously and I am guessing it was not intended to be taken as such. It took me a second to realize that by 'cuddles' you were refering to the giant facehugger near the end of Proemethus, but beyond that there is no serious reply possible so the only response can only be non-serious: I certainly would not wish to be 'cuddled' by this creepy squid thing! I do think they made this thing way too big to believe. Its hard to buy the idea that a few hours before this thing was squeezed out of Shaw's ................... (fill in the word) !

@Cry Havoc: That's a really interesting find and I have to admit that I haven't noticed it myself so far! Good reason to load the BluRay once more and do a few freeze frames during the scene. It may well be intenional and quite possibly a hint to its genetic origins. Would you mind embedding the link to the YouTube clip you were referring to? Cheers!
@nostromo001: I know where you're coming from in what you commented. But I have to take sides with @Cry Havoc on this one. The Trilobite was going by the name "Cuddles" around here as well as on other forums for quite some time and almost everyone used it back then. I'm not sure when you joined the community, so I assume you must have missed it.
That doesn't necessarily indicate that I agreed to the use of that particular nickname. ;-)

Here's the YouTube video.

around 0:22 you see the back of it's 'head' and dry flaky skin and what looks like some hair. To me, anyway.

Cheers for the link and I agree with you, it has some remote human attributes to it. Creepy indeed!

Could be a crew cut, but I reckon it’s a mullet. Certainly beats a Bob.
So do we refer to Cuddles as Shaggy now ?

or how about MOE

Haha @NCC and @Batch! Or is it finally that cross-franchise link to LOTR we've always wanted to see? Gollum must have joined Shaw and Holloway in a freaky threesome, god knows how! Will we get that epic climax scene where he'll stand before his father? Oh man, I'm so sorry folks... xD

I must have missed that one totally because that was the first time I had heard it and as you can imagine it wouldn't compute the first time around for anyone. Anyway I see now.....

@ Havoc- Thanks for the heads up!
@nostromo- I think the word you want is Tumbly, as in Shaw had a Grumbly in her Tumbly! I haven't checked out the footage yet but I will be impressed if it has hair, though I do agree right now with the spine. I'm a big fan of the Trilobite, size and all. My thinking is that it's meant to impregnate an SJ. Yes, I'm holding on to the SJ. Separate thing. So there.

The word I am thinking of is fuzzier than 'cuddles' but thats all I can say on the subject! lol

Not even I caught the hair on Cuddles! That does make it even creepier... But it makes sense, being a human-Alien hybrid.
Predator: Badlands - coming November 7th, 2025

It's weird, tho. I'm only seeing it on one or two viewpoints in the scene. I'm wondering if it's a CGI remnant that didn't get pulled out in editing.
