Trilobite or Facehugger? Which is scarier?

Prometheus introduced a larger, more flexible version of the classic Facehugger which overpowered the giant Engineer and produced a new, menacing breed of Alien, known to us as the Deacon. My question for Prometheus and Alien fans today is, which do you find more terrifying? The larger, squid-like Trilobite? Or the smaller, more agile Facehugger? It really comes down to personal preference. Some people would be more afraid of a large beast coming at them, while others might be more intimidated by a smaller, lesser visible enemy. Personally, I still would fear the Facehugger more. Because of its ability to hide in tiny spaces and get pretty much anywhere, while the Trilobite you would probably be able to see coming and have time to hide or get away. But that's just me. What would you guys and gals find more terrifying? The Trilobite? or the Facehugger if you were stuck on a space ship floating around in space?

I would probably still be more afraid for the above mentioned reasons, but i wouldn't be happy to see a trilobite coming at me haha

For me the first face hugger from the Alien movie is more terrifying...like in the real life the smallest things (viruses, prions, and microorganisms) are the most dangerous: you can't hide or protect yourself against them. And have you ever seen them in a el.microskop? They really are an ancient monsters :-)
I have a pretty good idea of where it is. It's just down there, in the basement....

I definitely agree with you on that one because they come out of what seems like nowhere and their small and agile. You can probably run away from the Trilobite since its size and girth, I think its a sit and wait kinda creature. Facehuggers are just plain creepy since they can run like a spider on steroids and it can jump relatively high just to shove an embryo in your gut.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

It's the Facehugger for me for a more insidious reason - the appendages look like 'dead man's fingers'. The fingernail aspect offsets the usual arachnid comparisons, like they're left over DNA dregs of some distant victim's lost soul.

Good question! I think the trilobite was just so overwhelmingly menacing that it was almost beautiful. Face-huggers are creepier, imo, but the amount of menace I felt from the trilobite was way higher - this is coming from a guy that saw alien and aliens way too young (I'm 32 and I saw the first films when I was like 11).

The Facehugger is more disgusting to me. The comparison with a scuttling spider is obvious, and its grasping, strangling tail is yukky. It's a perfect smothering machine, just the right size to do the job, and its grasping fingers add to our fears of being suffocated. I'm sure Giger had all these ideas in mind when he designed it.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

Imagine the Trilobite running at you like a facehugger does... like a massive hand-dog. At least with a Xeno you're gonna get killed quick, but with a facehugger its rape of the face and pregnancy ...*shudders

The Facehugger is more intimate, what could be worse than a huge wet yellow spider attached to you face? With a terrible scrotum draped across your chin. An awesome sci fi organism, truly horrific and often imitated. BUT.. The Trilobite is a great addition to the Alien menagerie. I'd like to see another one, coming down a long corridor, flailing and gnashing. Better yet a pure one, if there is such a thing, untainted by human DNA.

Good question... let's try this way: I'm in woods and I come across

Facehugger: it's scary 'cause it's tiny and can hide well (Aliens: the lab scene) so I can't run away from it well because of the size. But the face hug itself is disgusting sionce I start to think did it take a bath earlier and what kind of bacteria it holds etc. *shiver*

Trilobite: it's scary because it's huge, strong and dirty but I might be able to run away from it. You don't miss him easily. And that huge schlong if I get caught *shiver*
So yeah both but since I choose Facehugger

ooh tricky hmmm well the facehuggers smaller could almost imagine flinging a bin over it or hurling away like a snake but then the tails sposedly quite strong and its fast like a spider....... the trilobites huge groce and too strong to hope to struggle away but i cant imagine it moving fast if you were lucky to have some distance... both are facemolesters but the trilobites giant 'protrusion' really was quite disturbing and a its a bit toothy as well so in the end i guess it comes down to comparing the end result for the facehugger versus the starting point for the trilobite if shaw hadnt cut that thing out prematurely it would have been really nasty exit wise although it is easier to c-section than to remove something attached growing (albeit more slowly) in your chest cavity presumably attached to your aorta like a umbilicus to a placenta nope still cant decide trilobite probably

Seems like I agree with the poster and 95% of the responders here - the face hugger is just horrifying with its skeleton like spider legs and other aspects. The trilobite is certainly imposing but not as horrifying, more like terrifying sort of like Aliens versus Alien.

To all The thing about a trilobite is that there is no way you can prevent from getting its proboscis down your throat while (as Ripley did in aliens) you still have a chance to prevent a facehugger from getting attached to your face .

Trilobite, no way. Doctor Shaw's pregnancy is definitely shocking and overwhelming.
