It has been reported that the ST reboot director J.J. Abrams has been tapped to direct the upcoming SW VII for release in 2015. Since Ridley has said his Prometheus sequel is scheduled for a 2014-15 release, will you see both? If I'm still among the living I'll certainly be there.

It has been speculated that "JJ" actually stands for Jar Jar. Its true that the director and the obnoxious alien from I and II have never been seen together ....

This is one of those things that I won't be able to avoid. Some friends will want to see SW:VII, and they'll drag me along. Just like what happened with Avatar. (In fairness, I didn't want to see Avatar because I'm an obnoxious hipster and the film was waaaay too hyped up before release; good thing I somehow missed the massive viral campaign for Prometheus)
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.

J.J. Abrams is a good director because he is able to make a good movie with Lindelof in the process. :D

i love the original star wars movies (4,5,6) but not the later ones. they seemed to over do the special effects, there was too much happening in some scenes. The story lines where ok but te overdone CG just killed it for me. I remember seeing a ridley scott interview which the report commented on rideys old school approach to film making. Ridley just said "its not old school, its smart school" . he went on to say the too much CG causes alot of problems and there is a high repair bill. I dont know why they put so much CG into movies these days, it just kills it, its like going to a disco. Maybe they are trying to over compensate for a bad story line.

@pulserifle187; Wanna read something that will blow your mind about George Lucas? On March 3rd, 1988, Lucas delivered a speech in front of Congress that condemned exactly what he’d end up doing himself: "These current defacements are just the beginning. Today, engineers with their computers can add color to black-and-white movies, change the soundtrack, speed up the pace, and add or subtract material to the philosophical tastes of the copyright holder. Tomorrow, more advanced technology will be able to replace actors with “fresher faces,” or alter dialogue and change the movement of the actor’s lips to match. It will soon be possible to create a new “original” negative with whatever changes or alterations the copyright holder of the moment desires. The copyright holders, so far, have not been completely diligent in preserving the original negatives of films they control. In order to reconstruct old negatives, many archivists have had to go to Eastern bloc countries where American films have been better preserved. In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten."-George Lucas He also said when he was younger, that using too many special effects ruins movies. Looking back I honestly have to wonder if it's even the same man... You can read the whole speech Here

thats really cool. ty for posting svanya. In term of over CG lucas (especially in his later movies) hes a big cuprate, kinda make me wonder why they do it, its so obvious that it does work that well. Ive heard of people `talk of what lucas said. Ive heard that one day the person reading the news will be completely computer generated. The news reader will be designed for appeal, starting to get abit surreal

Star wars Episode III was the only of the last triology that had a certain quality compared to the older trilogy IMO. What Disney will do out of this..well..actually I liked Rapunzel..
