Decapitated Engineer's Head-Mask removal

When the decapitated Engineer's Mask is removed the coloring on the mask ssemed to have the same coloring and markings as his dead face. It looked almost like removing an outer skin revealed the skin below to be a duplicate. Sort of like a snake shedding it's skin. Perhaps because of the many years the Engineer's head was laying in the Big Head Room the mask and his skin would have aged about the same. Still for the outer mask to match to the Engineer's skin seemed more than an accident. What it means I have no idea.

Actually both the mask and head were in an "amazing state of preservation" Didnt seem they had aged at all- i think the room was like an isolated chamber which "froze" things in stasis. This is why they were running toward this room- to prevent the infection from running it's course. This is also why opening the door and introducing o2 and co2 messed with the atmosphere and seemed to 'trigger' the urns. It's as if they were set to be activated by Earth's atmosphere. (Or rather- not activated until then) Not sure about the similar color, sorry man. I'll watch for that upon my next viewing though. (Thanks for an excuse to watch it again!)
