What if the movie ended with Weyland getting what he wanted, to be immortal.... Where would the sequel go from there?
I should reach the frontier in about 6 weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo....

I for one am not sure where an immortality story might go. I'm having enough trouble trying to determine where Shaw and David / David's head may be going next. Assuming David / David's head can navigate the juggernaut seen leaving at the end of the film then we *may* get a glimpse of the engineer's home world but I suspect it will be somewhere much different and not so much like Paradise.

It seems to me that if Weyland was given the gift of 'time travel' that would his immortality in terms of being chronologically free. However it does not address his physical impairment. It may make him seem godlike but being an actual god would be illussionary.

Yes he wouldn't be a God, just an ancient man who can not die. I think it would be fitting if he got his wish to then be left stranded on LV223 for all eternity. :D

Well in a sense, Weyland will seem immortal, I get this feeling in the upcoming sequel I would not be surprise that there will be flashbacks of Weyland in Paradise, perhaps David will most likely refect back to his memories w/Weyland in the movie, perhaps as a reference or not..... Also.... Because Guy Pierce played Weyland as an elderly man, why use an actor in his early-mid 40's and make him appear in his late 90's... @noob, I agree @Indy John, I agree @oldman, I think they will show flashbacks of Weyland in the next movie, regarding Shaw and David and where they realing heading to...? I'm sure it will not be Paradise, at least not the paradise I believe in....

Id want it to look like an actual paradise that has been corrupted by the goo. What would be an Engineers paradise anyway?? They might like it being cold wet and dark( would explain the whiteness) lol. I believe Weyland and Shaws Dad will make an appearance in Prometheus 2, whether it be in flashbacks or them as entities...

@fader; They did explain why Guy was hired instead of an actual old man. The "Ted Talks" were initially filmed for use in the actual movie but then they decided to release those scenes as webcasts. So they did have him as a young man as well originally in the movie.

@Svanya and DenzelTH I bet to say in Paradise, David will be chatting w/Shaw as they fly towards the Engineer's home world. And I bet to say that Weyland will be the subject in a few of those talks, hence the flashback..... Actually I believe they have filmed most of Paradise during or right after the filming of Prometheus for that matter. Ridley Scott has allot of work on his plate as it is.... Also for Fox to tear down those expensive sets, the Juggernaut set mostly, to rebuild again down the road in a year or less??? In fact in the commentary of Prometheus, RS stated they were prepping to film BladeRunner 2 at that point, so I have to assume the commentary of RS on Prometheus had to be before the release of the movie of Prometheus back in June 2012.... I truly hope after 2013 gets here, we will start to see or hear that Paradise is near completion.... I'm not a Blade Runner fan, so I can care less if that movie ever hits the screen..... I mean really Harrison Ford? with a walker or what? He might be good in a Grampa movie, or do vioce overs in animations or what have you, I even heard he wanted to get in the possible new Star Wars, as what? perhaps he and Carrie Fisher can play in a role at a retirement rehab center. Not to mention has anyone seen what Luke Skywalker "Mark Hamil" looks like these days.... ughhhh.... the new Star Wars will be just a remake of the 1970's version..... off topic, I know sorry about that, just think the time and money spent on a new Blade Runner, ughh what a waste.... perhaps a new version.....

"..Actually I believe they have filmed most of Paradise during or right after the filming of Prometheus.." I like this thinking and in fact would enjoy some of the deleted scenes to be used in the explanation to what has happenned. THere was some talk awhile back about scene filmed in Spain that have never been used in any form. They need to see the light of day. And a little thing is that you don't want Shaw and David to age too much before the sequal is recorded though any appearence change could be explained by the travel time Shaw / David experience.

@ Indy John, not trying to beat my drum, but if you check the back blogs, I and Chris came up w/that 90 days filming in Spain and the use of a huge multi gallon water tank, but that was many months ago, might be in the July postings.... I bet most of it has been filmed tho, I really hope it is, don't think I can make it 2014 due to health reasons....

If Weyland got his wish, it would be funny. Weyland would be jubilant! He would be jumping up & down, then Bob would rip his head off & toss it next to David's!

If Weyland has his Immortailty wish grandred he would need to give up his AARP membership. Me and OldGuy would still need to be enrolled though..

@fader Yes it must have been here where I read about it and I would like to read more if the thread is availible. IMBD says the Spain locations were used for water scenes but not the Waterfall activity. In the beginning there were the flyover water scenes(before the Waterfall) that could be Spain scenes but I just thought they were more of the Iceland visuals. I don't recall other water scenes in the movie so that is why I am thinking that there is footage not yet seen in the 'extras',,that could be used if needed.
