Alien Series

Prometheus Paradise plot: Ok, here is how it should go down. Shaw and David arrive near the Engineers home world and are immediately greeted by two warships that escort them to the ruins of the Engineers greatest city. The city looks a bit like Rome with Engineer monuments in ruins scattered all around. The world is overgrown with forests and an abundance of wildlife. Some even quite dangerous. In comparison to earth this world is much larger and no oceans, just lakes, streams, mountains and waterfalls as far as the eye can see. David notes that it looks like a paradise. On the horizon Shaw notices a red illumination around the green canopy. It’s a dome. They all have a massive, slightly rusty, metal frame. A red colored plasma is providing some kind of a barrier, but ship are gliding straight through. As they move closer she notices there is more than one dome, there are hundreds of them and they are headed straight for the biggest one of them all. They are guided to a landing platform. The ship is opened from the outside and in step a squad of hunters (yep Predators). After the initial shock wears off from both sides. The hunters decide they will take Shaw and David to their leader with their spines still intact so they can figure out how humans ended up on a Engineer ship… Ok, I’ll let the script unfold however the director wants from there but the background plot will be as follows: The hunters reveille that the Engineer from the first scene of the first movie was part of group of religious zealots that wanted to spread life across the universe. The world that was seeded in the first scene of the first movie was not earth but a twin planet much closer and more in contact with the Engineers. In this world, the castaway Engineers and humans lived and learned side by side. Though the secrete of immortally and the black goo was never reveled to the humans, the Engineers were forever, and worshiped like gods. But they preferred to think of themselves as teachers. However, the Engineer leaders on the home world thought it heresy to play god and were threatened by the humans. So they decided to use their immense power for destruction. They created the ultimate weapon in the Zeno and unleashed it on that other world and the great war began. The humans and engineers put up a good fight but were overwhelmed by the creatures numbers. In a last desperate attempt to save the humans. The last remaining Engineer spliced the human DNA with the Zeno. The result of that splice is the Predator race. The predators were much more aggressive and stronger than their human cousins and eventually managed to control the outbreak on their planet. The hunters lust for revenge never faded and soon they were on there way to the Engineer’s home planet and hunting down all Engineers they could find in the worlds around the planet. The war that followed lasted thousands of years and the hunters developed a intensely militaristic society. It is said that a hunter who wants to become a commander must first kill a Engineer in a one on one match with no weapons. A pretty tough feat for the much smaller Predator. Anyway, the hunters do eventually round up all the remaining Engineers and keep a few thousand alive as slaves. After the war the Predators become anxious for a fight and start to use humans from Earth and Zenos to prove their worth. A thousand years pass. Then, out of the blue, they pick up David and Shaw‘s ship signature… Where it goes from here is anyone’s guess. :)

Welcome to the forum west1ne. :) No, don't wait, watch Alien first. Basically watch all the movies in the order they were released. (Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurrection and IF you must you can watch the AVP series after you have watched the legit Alien movies.) *Keep in mind Alien is a horror story and Aliens is an action movie. As for Alien3 try and find "The Assembly Cut", it is 1000x better than the theatrical release, and Alien Resurrection is a bit campy. The AVP series is ok but it is basically a Hollywood mashup/slasher flick unrelated to the Alien/Predator universe outside of those movies so don't take the names or anything seriously. The Alien movies are a great way to "meet" all the robots of the series and see the beautiful Xenomorph H.R Giger designed. Enjoy! :)

so im not the only one whos only just started watching the Alien series, well the first time without hiding behind the sofa. dont be put off by Alien being a horror its not over the top gory more suspense except for a few scenes that make you feel very uncomfortable. its also the one that lead to the creation of prometheus. the space jockeys are much larger in the first one arent they? aliens is good theres some epic moment involving Ripley and a huge industrial robot thing beating the crap out of a giant xenomorph (queen?). alien 3 isnt that bad not as action packed as the first 2 movies i havent watched the fourth one yet. Petro i think you've posted in the wrong thread. anyway an Engineer would rip the predator to pieces they are extremely strong and aggressive as f@@k.

Hey [b]west1ne[/b] welcome to Prometheus-Movie.com! Glad to have you here! As per your question, definitely watch them. Alien Rez I think you can do without, haha but Alien and Aliens and for some, Alien 3, definitely check them out. Prometheus will certainly give you a better understanding of Alien watching afterwards. I don't think anyone on this forum is in the same boat as you, so you'll have to let us know how Prometheus influenced your thought of Alien after watching it!

i agree with chris. Definitely watch alien, aliens, and alien 3 (id suggest purchasing the alien anthology box set on amazon.com. they've been selling it for 20 bucks lately. amazing price!) Of course these kinds of things are highly subjective, but i personally wish i had never seen alien: insurrection and the AVP movies (trash imo). Many fans consider the AVP flicks to be a completely separate franchise and NOT alien canon (i fall into this category...obviously). anyways...happy viewing! you are in for a treat! especially as far as the first 3 films are concerned (and i put prometheus in that "great" category). @oneironaut: your little "i cant" gif was hilarious!...im with ya there.
