THe storm just sort of popped up much to the surprise of the crew and the audiance. There has been specualtion that the pyramids are an atmosphere generator,,and the storm certainly qualifies as an atmosphere sisturbance, The storm also came directly over the pyramid to engulf the Prometheus. Whoever created the storm might have done this by design as a localized event and spared the remaining bee hives from being weathered.

I think he might be on about the tombs and caves they've discovered back on Earth?

yup. agree with denzel and major noob. holloway was referring to the numerous archaeological digs that were carried out back on earth. The film is clear about the fact that shaw and holloway have been at this for quite some time.

I just bet Holloway and Shaw have never come across another tomb..that came alive. In thinking about the Big Head room it is easy to see the inference that it was a tomb. My first reaction was it looked more like an arranged scene with the urns waiting to be set in motion. The overhead shots especially gave look of troops ready to be rallied.

yeh, on the one hand they are like coptic jars but on the other they look like missiles or bombs interesting how in the cargo hold they are stacked like well cargo but in the head room they are organised like a mine field? maybe they are there to protect something like a booby-trapped tomb a' la indiana jones, so besides the big head and the green thing what else was there?

".. organised like a mine field.." It does sort of look like that even being above ground making it's locations obvious. Also set up like pins in a bowling alley is a possibility. Touching or moving certain ampules might also trigger as you mention a storyline from IndyJones. Holloway makes the Tomb reference to my mind in a off handed..or dismissive manner.. Almost like he hopes that it is a Tomb and not something more dangerous, Still he was intrigued and I think deciphered more than he let on,,and that scared him Hence his tomb comment sort of like denying what he learned.

i didnt understand the depth of his disappointment he was sposed to a more adventurous tombraider sort who shouldnt have been more upset about the engineers (apparently) not being alive and not being gods than shaw the spiritual one he seemed more. Maybe he had absent father issues that unexpectedly caught up with him as he quickly hit the booze and acted churlish

If David had knowledge of a last Engineer that was in stasis, he made sure not to tell Holloway!

@Cerulean Blue Yes that could have made all the difference in storyline. It seems like Shaw was the only human that not only went to this moon for the right reasons..but is the only surviviour. How quickly Holloway did sink into a selfish/childish manner..especially how hew treated Shaw/David and his taking up with the drink... After he saved Shaw'Head from the sand storm he went into deep despair..for no obvious reason. I mean he was with his girlfriend and the adventure of a lifetime.

That storm blew up awfully quickly upon their entering the urn room/tomb, almost like a burglar alarm or trap-mechanism.
