i'm not seeing much resemblance, personally...Maybe a little bit, If the hammerpedes are from the ooze mixing with alien worms, what would that have to do with Weyland industries back on Earth?

The Weyland logo has more a relation to Ancient Egipt. But I see your point.

MemberOvomorphJul-31-2012 4:47 PMI think that is too much digging into symbolism. Many air service logos also look the same. anyway, Prometheus didn't made this much deep sense.

With Weyland and his Company knowing more than we do,,to me it is a sign that the company is connected to the Engineers,,,and expalins why David seems to know so much,,,

MemberOvomorphOct-22-2012 8:47 AMWhat I find interesting is that Weyland quotes a piece of [i]Thus Spoke Zarathustra[/i] in one of the viral trailers. The main character in that novel is a member of an ancient religion Zoroastrianism. The symbol used to represent that religion is very similar to the Weyland-Yutani logo used in Alien.

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2014 9:42 PMThe company perhaps motivated and and influenced by alien technology and belief. For me the logo is inspired by the ancient egyptians, or maybe this is just the way they want it to make it unique. Logo is very much important as part of company branding ideas, every business, products or services deserves to have a quality brand logo, and if you need more help about branding your business, click here for more help.

MemberOvomorphJan-26-2016 1:43 AMApparently, the logo is just a first choice and it has nothing to do with the Ancient Egyptians symbols and inscriptions. According to my friend Alexandra Watkins of http://eatmywords.com/ there are logo choice that is very complemented when uses the idea of unique aspects, though different in some guidelines to protect intellectual rights.
