Hello my friends it's been a while since I've posted something on this forum and I guess I should post my review of the film. First of all since I am currently living in a third world nation I had to wait untill June 15th to see this masterpiece. I went with a few buddys of mine to see it. When we came out of that theater all of our faces were full of awe and dread!. The beggining of the film is very metaphorical and it was a nice touch to. The whole plot is excellent and the creature designs spectacular although I would have liked to have seen the hammerpede's life-cycle. I really liked the film and I DON'T UNDERSTAND why some people hate it. The film was perfect and I declare it the 2001 of our time! Ridley Scott is a true artist and every second of Prometheus was a joy for my eyes. Visually it was beautiful and stunning! Fassbender should be nominated for an Oscar! I really hope a sequel is made........NO I DEMAND A SEQUEL! We need to see where the sequel takes us. I want my questions answered and besides ALIEN it's the best film in the franchise!

@ Inquisitor Tremayne I will be quoting the master himself Ridley Scott on my opinion on that ameteur webisite, "I honestly don't give a shit!" :) I don't see the point on you joining a fan based website if your just going to diss the movie. People nowadays can't appreciate a good film!

@Synthrimonger94 - it's ok man; it's ok!!! really, if all i had to do is dress a poor story up, so that my fans would come to see and convince themselves it is a masterpiece and stood to make millions - i would - really, i would! i do appreciate it in a visual sense and david 8 is pretty cool, but can you really (and i mean really - disconnect yourself just a little and say "i'm going to look at this objectively?") buy into: token up in space suits, play snake charmer with those on alien worlds, buy the abortion scene (them not chasing her, putting her on ice in the first place, catching her before the medpod, nobody caring where she'd been, etc...), the stupidity of those getting lost that were mapping and full contact with the ship, etc....? objectively now and call it a "good film" wait "perfect" was the word you used? "perfect"? none of those little discrepancies catch you at all? none? you're either that gifted or that blind? never underestimate the power of denial!!! as for ridley's quote - he can say what he wants! his career doesn't bank on anything anymore. he's a millionaire. he can poop on a film and say "I honestly don't give a shit!", because he doesn't! he doesn't have to! perfect, but blah blah blah.... hammerpede bs....!

While I must say I agree it wasn't perfect but in a way so few people understand it was a Masterpiece and a stunning contribution to this genre. It has so many hidden Easter Eggs and some stuff that was so well written it flew right over moist people's heads. Most of the reasons I have read for not liking it as well reek to high hell of so much "phoneyness" and bias and a most suffer from either an obvious lack of conviction and no proof of anything, or are just the ramblings on of some very bitter jealous people...there is a complete lack of credibility to every single one of them as well...and I question the motives going in of people who said things like the Dialogues was dumb who had seen 5 minutes of highly detailed trailers and were spoon fed tons of info and yet Still went to see the film. A Lot of the negative reviews I read were LIES written days before the movie was even released int he Country of these persons IP adresses. In the end, whats telling the most to me, Is in 50 years I have never seen so many people who say a Movie was crap..."STICK AROUND TO TALK ABOUT IT AFTER LIKE THIS" WHICH IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT MAKES ZERO SENSE AND BRINGS INTO QUESTION EVERY NEGATIVE THING THEY SAID ABOUT THE FILM. As always, just some food for thought !

lol this is a super late reply to your review Synthrimonger94 but anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That hater, jesus, what a raving lunatic, anyone that links to maddox loses all credibility, he's the very same guy who said anyone that likes David Lynch's movies are 'idiots', he is a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian, compare his uninformed ravings to erudite and critically acclaimed film and literature scholar John Kenneth Muir; someone who can discern subtext and allusion, which the film is swimming in. Anyway, you noted that you would have liked to see the hammerpede's life-cycle, well the film does provide the clue to its life-cycle due to the fact that the hammerpede mutated from a worm thus logic dictates that it would have a worm's life-cycle and here's what many didn't stop to consider - worms are hermaphrodites, they shed their skin but more importantly, they are egg layers. Now, Lindelof brought into question whether the Deacon was an egg layer, "Is it an egg layer?" and the reason he does so is because if you pay attention, the deacon is attached by an umbilical when it is born as well as a placenta. So why would it be an egg layer if it was born attached to a placenta? It's attached to a placenta because its birth is a 'live birth' since its genetic origins are of bipeds, all of this points us back to the acid bleeding hammerpede; it is the egg layer and that is the very reason why the film didn't focus to much on it or refer back to it, the film misdirects us deliberately. Whether the worms are native to LV-223 or were brought in by accident by the Engineers to simulate the earth-like conditions of their temples, they were implicit in the outbreak that occurred and it provides context to what happened on the derelict on LV-426. TL;DR, the classic xeno evolved from worms and explains why larval xenos are worm like, shed their skin and how the ability to lay eggs was passed on.
