Spiral leading from top of juggernaut upward in the pyramid/structure

It's not leading from the top of the Juggernaut. It's leading from a large chamber in the hardened bunker. It's a pity we never go to see all the way to the top, it would come out in or next to the Giant Xeno Skull on the roof. If you recall the 3D mapping, the entrance to the Juggernaut was off to the side where a long corridor acted as a "jet way" to the bridge of the Juggernaut. And the hangar doors were between the dome and the Prometheus. The spirals are interesting as they seem very wide. Could be part of what's creating the breathable atmosphere or could lead up to the quarters for Engineers (real ones) and maybe where the Xeno that caused all the problems is hiding. (not yet detected by the pups, if they hadn't finished mapping. ) If it's part of the atmosphere processor, then it would be the 'origin' of the Xenos fondness for air ducts.

I read in the concept art book, the dome had to be designed as to create atmosphere. I htink it's meant to be designed to make condense, so water and that gave breathable air.

In looking over the [ryamid shape and seeing the spiral corricors it reminds me of a moonshine still! Yup it is the beginning nof party mix. Since the domelike structures were built rather than a natural formation it is refelective of the round shape of most things in the Engineers' world. *THe Juggernauts * Orrery displays *Urns seem to be elongated round oblects *shape of the corridors *Shape of the Original Engineer ship *Big Head shape Nothing seems to be of an angular nature Contrast this to the human world where are all different shapes are used as needed. It may not mean anything.

I agree its somekind of simple yet complicated ventilation system/oxygen conversion chamber. It probably helps with moistening the air and turning it first into water and from there you can get O2 i think.

I wish they had explored that. They really only give us a very little in the movie, which is a shame. The Weyland corporation already is "building better worlds", with "atmospheric processors" that make the air breathable on whole planets, so I doubt the engineers would need to devote such a large part of their pyramids to just making oxygens for inside them. This said, it does seem that the writers of [u]Prometheus[u] intended this because the chute leading up to the top and opening up to the sky must be the same as the one Holloway and the others find when they say "something is generating an atmosphere". It may have multiple uses, though, with rooms which may have housed engineers. If the pyramids were bases, or temples, they would likely have some living quarters for the engineers who staff them. The atmosphere processor inside the pyramid might also be used to purify the air in the whole complex, which may have run the risk of contamination by airborne biological or chemical agents; and they'd need a sophisticated one to quickly enough protect themselves.

In checking out the Weyland version of an Atmosphere Generator it is also of round dome shaped appearence Maybe it is a Universal truth that air processer must be of a round dome design. If you think about it I sort of wonder if the Engineeres are working for the equivalent of the Weyland Corp. in their world? Maybe the storyline is following two Universel Companies finally meeting on the Engineer's territory, A turf war so to speak.

I had not seen this picture before. Thanks for posting.. The ramps sort of make sense in being in the outer area of the pyramid but iIdon't see any detail of the intereor above the big Head Room. Was it a Lab? Sleeping/living quarters? Storage areas? The form must follow function. Atmopshere processor is possibility. But why couldn't the mapping pups enter the interior? Locked doors? For being the dominat structure on this moon there is surprisingly little detail of this center of the story.
