Loved this scene in both film and the novel and the way it comes full circle with Walter first getting to know David, "Whistle and I'll come.", and the novels interpretation of the first Xeno/Oram birth when David lulls the infant with a tune and the beast tries to imitate, establishing intelligence.

My favorite thing about this deleted scene is how Walter seems annoyed with Mother.You definitely get the feeling that Walter and Mother have been alone a little to long....

To me it shows that Walter may emotion than he knows.He shows feelings of irritation and exasperation at mother's comment
