Since Prometheus where there were hints at the afterlife in pre production and also hints at the film which continues in A:C. Now what i want to know is why this has not been explored yet ?

My first thought was A:C and Planet 4 being a hidden planet containing the most loyal and holy servants in a Paradise for eternity. Close.

Turns out Planet 4 was the Engineer homeworld.

Does anyone else feel it is something they thought might be covered?

There are high concepts being explored already such as religion, humanity and creation. I did not pick up on an afterlife concept and think the franchise has enough to deal with. I hope they don't explore the afterlife- that could also be very polarizing for fans.

It may show up as a theme or, like, motif, but I don't think that it will make it's way to the forefront of things in the next film(s). Too much already going, I tihk they have to keep advacning what they have started, you know? So yeah. Would be interesting to see how Scott handles that though

I don't recall any references to an afterlife in this franchise.  If anything, it would be that there is no afterlife.  I've only seen hints of extending life and creating life, but not even immortality, as even the Engineers are mortal.

Weyland said "Where do we come from, what is our purpose, what happens to us when we die?"

Perhaps nothing happens when we die in Alienverse and that is papered over. or i maybe mis quote

Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

In Prometheus Shaw has a dialogue with her father, witnessing a funeral and her father mentions the afterlife, heaven, paradise, "some place beautiful".

And there is Peter Weyland's question sherris quoted in a post.

Other than that, when we die a little chestburster might pop up, that's about all I saw about afterlife in these films.

"He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"

Even though I think that ideas about religion can work in the context of the Alien franchise I think that exploring some sort of imagined afterlife in the franchise is too much. They already had too much religion in Prometheus. We already have a lot of crap in the Alien prequels (one David-centric movie, many of the characters in Prometheus) the way it is, don't make it worse.
