MemberOvomorphOct-02-2017 2:43 PMHi everyone !
I'm new here so here's a first contribution; my recut of Alien Covenant, adding deleted scenes and rethinking the whole narration.
Hope you'll enjoy it !

As for the plus side, surprisingly enough, the different parts of the prologue 'The Crossing' work very well in your version. We see Shaw and it makes the relevant scenes better.
As for the dislikes, the original music of Covenant should be used. Your version is too silent for me. And now I know that Alien Covenant should not be started by the prologue 'Last Supper' because the original opening is much better.
Of course, it's only my opinion. :)

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2017 4:05 PMAti- Thank you very much for your thoughts on the recut.
First let me say that I love the original Weyland / David prologue and cutting it off was the toughest decision I've made.
I just thought no matter how good and effective it is, that's just not suitable as an introduction espicially for the no die hard fans that didn't see or know prometheus very well.
I think this scene would be more suitable in prometheus and if I ever do a recut of prometheus I will definitely use that scene..
I really wanted to make a cut closer to the first Alien and as of the music of course that's a matter of taste ;) but I felt, as for a lot of recent movies, that the music was way too present and obvious and also the neomorphs and the xenomorphs too visible so I wanted a more old school approach.
Anyway thanks for watching and glad that you appreciated my use of the crossing ;)

MemberOvomorphOct-03-2017 4:12 PMJust an other thing about the last supper, I thought that because of the lack of characters development and because in the theatrical cut without an introduction to these characters we couldn't really "felt" the danger and death of those characters after the ship damages, the last supper was necessary and adding the prologue before last supper was too much.
Of course the last supper was promotional material so could have needed extra developent still thought it was more coherent from a narrative point of view. ;)

True!

As a friendly reminder there are clips where some characters have some messages before they go on the mission. They could have been added to add some to the characters although there are some parts in Daniel's message that could be cut out to make it better.

MemberOvomorphOct-06-2017 1:27 AMHi !
Thanks, well definitely interesting but too promotional to be used.
Daniels is often cut with footage of the real film so not realy useable, Tenessee as in a lot of promotional stuff is too much of a joker and can't be taken seriously as a scientist and the other messages not so interesting.
I like it but not pertinent enough in my opinion; also kind of odd and forced to have this between last supper and the beginning of the movie.
If I have access to the whole footage without intercut of the film or the bad transimissions effect, could be interesting.
Thanks anyway ;)
