Look at the images carefully, to be more precise, look at the back of the facehugger.
There are two tube-like/bone-like things connected to its back. What are these?
Was the facehugger controlled during the action?
These bone-like things are very similar to the structures that can be seen on/around Shaw’s face in the movie still:

I believe those are the facehugger legs pulled back in a dissection drawing to give room to show the tube going through the mouth extending past the lower jaw line into the throat Ati.
Ingeniero - First I had thought something similar then I asked myself: 'Does that facehugger have six pairs of legs?' So I don't know...
Those connecting/socket-like stuff remind me of the ones from the hips of the xenomorph.
