Deciphering the Text on David's Illustrations

Excellent find @VivisectedEngineer ! From what I gather from what has been deciphered, the Engineers had unlocked some sort of biotechnology that allowed them to experiment on themselves via their environment in an attempt to attain godhood. At least, that is what I gleaned from the deciphered texts. It also seems like the Planet 4 organisms were more powerful than their Earth counterparts. More evolved to survive and superior genetically.

Yes, definitely. They seem very advanced in genetic Engineering technology, so they have been able to acquire a lot of power! Earth and Humanity may just be someone's creative pet-project one of them made while messing around then intended to scrap!

As far as the OT... wow my Eyes are hurting i find such writing hard to read for starters never-mind so low resolution i really hope we get these images in a Book with a full translation well in Bold Txt so we can read.

From what i am reading it seems the Engineers obtained something that allowed them to steal/borrow traits of Natural Life-forms and Engineer them into their Technology to create the Bio-mechanical Atheistic...

So in effect their ships are part Organic and Plantlike...

It would appear David has studied various kinds of Organisms and been taking and blending traits of each of them into his experiments in the pursuit of Perfection.

Its interesting he has studied Engineer Babies, and experimented on them as one of my biggest Questions was (since seeing the leaked Props way before the Trailers)  The Big Question i had was those Humanoid Baby Skulls and where they came from.

I was wondering did David manage to use some Engineer Seed with Shaw to create Babies and in effect Grant Shaw Childbirth but use them to David own Agenda.

It appears David indeed had access to Females who had bared Children for him to Experiment on....  Which leads me to indeed ponder was the Females of the Population mainly kept indoors or indeed inside the Cathedral especially when the Bombardment began and so some Survivors had managed to Qaurantine themselves inside the Cathedral.

But eventually they would be weak due to lack of Nutrition and Clean Water, this would explain more Fresh Bodies for Davids experiments and also how David could approach Engineers without any actually being able to disable him... as the Engineer in Prometheus did with ease.

Actually, in the book, there was fruit and clean water in the cathedral! Remember David's drizzle room? Plus, there was also wheat growing on the planet.

Of Shaw, David said: "I kept her alive for quite awhile. I like to think that was another testament to my creativity, although she might have disagreed."

I figured the fruit, wheat and water(in the drizzle room) were likely instrumental. I do wonder how he managed to keep her quarantined from the pathogen.

Wasn't there some mention way back when by Ridley or someone that worked on Alien that the Engineer ships were grown? 

@Lilly(Svanya): It would explain why the inside of the Engineer's helmet appeared cabbage-like.

Yrp I think it is fairly obvious the Engineers 'grow' their technology (except the ones on Paradise/P4, which seem to be a different Engineer civilization).

This is really interesting. Thank you. To read those letters is almost like battle with famous Voynich manuscript. And while I am mentioning that mysterious book - have you ever noticed some striking similarities in the presentations of "creations" in the illustrations in the book, containing "worlds" of humans, plants, planets etc. with some stuff from Prometheus and A:C!?It seems to me that especially David's drawings have strong connections with this source.

I wondered if there would be any further information to be gathered from the drawings and other pieces. 

Great find, im not able to see clear enough to translate but would be interested in doing so if we could clean them up and make them a touch sharper.

i will search through and see what i can do but if we can keep sharing any progress on here would be amazing. There are enough of us to get through it once the images are clear.

Indeed it was HR Giger who made the comment about them being grown, this was his thoughts on them. I think HR Gigers ideas and concepts are what should have been followed and are what my P2 draft was to start to address but P3 would have covered.

Indeed the point i was pondering is if there was a limited supply inside the Cathedral,  David can not be infected and so he can scavenge around the outer reaches of the City for Food, a Engineer/Humanoid would maybe not risk this due to risk of infection... i would assume some wondered outside at some point (provided my theory was correct) and got infected.

I would say overtime the Infection was clear, but still left the odd Neomorph Spore lying around.  I just think its a more logical explanation rather than a large number of Engineer Survivors had survived and somehow David managed to evade capture and even use them at his Will.

The only way this would be possible would be if David had some Bargaining Chip (Black Goo) to make a Covenant with the Survivors, which David would break..  Or that David could Control or Unleash Organisms created from the Outbreak onto the Engineers to basically overpower/capture them.

Another possibility I came up with from what is here is the way the organisms David observes all fit together like puzzle-pieces to form his 'creation'. What if David was merely putting the pieces back together, to form the progenitor of the organisms on Planet 4 (and other Engineer creations)?

Yeah, I don't think David really "created" the Xenomorph in the way he likes to think he did...

Like, he did create some Xenomorphs, but he didn't invent them.

It's like...if my dad builds a boat... Then he's gonna be real proud of himself, saying "Right on! I've created the boat!"

But...I mean, it doesn't make him the inventor of boats.

Maybe David had a little more creativity involved...tweaking the Xenomorph to his specifications... But that's like...painting is a creative process, but just because you've created a new and original painting, it doesn't mean you've invented the concept of paintings.

Indeed i think this was the idea prior to changes, as the Novel seems to indicate David Re-creating or Evolving/Improving the Design.

Ridley Scott or Fassbender did mention something about how AI can no create, it can only follow already laid out instructions...   So basically as far as Music Goes they was hinting at a AI can not create its own Musical Score... but it can follow and play a already created Symphony etc

I think this comment was in context to Walter though, where as David however clearly can Create and Think for himself.  As opposed to the comment hinting David could have followed Engineer Designs and Re-create or experiment with Organisms but not be able to Create from Scratch.

But regardless the idea now is David has created the Xenomorph we will come to know and love from the Franchise... but indeed as we are Genetically related to the Engineers and the Xenomorph Experiments are related to the Black Goo... its still possible that through many experiments David has simply created something that had already existed in some familiar form a long time ago.

But i would think the route they are taking is the Origins of the Xenomorph as far as Black Goo are connected to a similar Organism, but that its Origin is not quite as close to the Xenomorph in ALIEN as Davids Xenomorphs in AC.

And so indeed the Xenomorph Bio-Mechanical Aesthetics is something that does not exist within the Time-line yet but something that will come from a Event between the year 2105-2122
