MemberFacehuggerJun-02-2017 10:40 AMWill fans get another film to commemorate this event? How will Fox approach this landmark in Sci-fi horror?
If indeed Ridley is going to make another movie to follow on from Alien Covenant, surely it would make sense that it would be produced and ready to hit cinemas by June 2019.
Given the current reception of AC, which is certainly mixed, I don’t see how Fox would want to pass up the chance to get a product out to commemorate such a day.
Any thoughts?

MemberFacehuggerJun-02-2017 5:53 PMJust to expand on the reason I posted this thread, I thought I would share my own thoughts on this. My understanding of things is this. Ridley wants to start filming another movie in under 14 months. Would this mean that a finished product could be in the cinemas by the time it is the 40th anniversary of Alien? Although, on surface this may seem like a simple question, I felt it may have had some greater implications regarding the making of Covenant. I get the feeling that maybe some corners had been cut in order to get AC out. Has there been a plan in the pipeline to have a trilogy prequel to Alien, that also has a story that backs into Alien in time for the anniversary? Regardless of how AC is performing, maybe Fox would want something to commemorate Alien. All this in effect brings me to my final point. If there is such a plan, is this having a direct result on the quality of the films we are getting ?
I think it would be great to get another movie, but I am concerned at what cost it would be to the storyline and the franchise.
