Ridley was wrong about why people disliked Covenant

All of the media outlets are painting things as if the fanbase only wanted to see Xenomorphs killing people.  I disagree.

I think the real reason we (the fan base) had issues with Prometheus was the 1. idiot plot, 2. space jockeys are humanoid aliens in suits instead of elephant-like ancient space creatures, 3. idiot plot, 4. idiot plot, 5. idiot plot.

The reasons fans will gripe about Alien Covenant?

1. Lack of story development
2. Action-focused at the detriment of explaining things
3. Chestburster is a full Xeno instead of a chestburster

And the biggest reason of all?? EVERYTHING WAS IN THE TRAILER.  Fox's marketing department sabotaged this thing.  The backburster should have not been in the trailer.  The bombing should have not been in the trailer.

I feel like Ridley skipped a film...  The sequel to Promethus and prequel to Alien Covenant should have been Shaw and David arriving on the planet, and the entire movie being David experimenting, creatures running around, learning about the Engineers and their terrible secret/s, Shaw hiding from David, Engineers and crazy Xeno experiments.  Ends with the city getting bombarded and David staying alive.

Instead, Shaw's dead, David's crazy and half of the movie is Xenos running around killing people.

Where is the evolution??  Shouldn't they have done the belugamorph or something before the protomorph?

Regardless, I still enjoyed the movie.  I just don't get the markteting method, and I feel like skipping the evolution and focusing on action makes things less compelling.

7/10 for me right now, but it might grow on me more in repeat viewings.
