Thank you ObscureMammal and Batchpool for also pointing out this interview.

Have we fully prepared ourselves for who may be the biomechanical xenomorph baby momma?

I agree that we are not locked into the Derelict or Space Jockey being fossilized.

All we have is Dallas saying "looks fossilized". That's quite different from the movie making a point to establish it was actually fossilized. My guess is Ridley is either going to find a creative way to explain the appearance, or he'll leave it to the imagination. I see no need for any of us to feel like this breaks continuity. The fossilization idea just wasn't as firmly established as it would need to be for us to start calling Ridley on continuity errors.

Good point on the blue flames. I wouldn't have considered that. It's such a quick glance we get in that one tv spot.

Agreed. I actually have strong doubts we're going to get some type of android fusion at this point. From what we now know, it would seem the eggs have been there for quite some time. Likely before the Covenant crew arrived. It is peculiar that people keep overlooking this and speaking as if David doesn't grow the eggs until he gets some Walter DNA.

That is unless they are speaking of bio-mech xenos that are going to be created after the events of AC. Perhaps then the idea would be that in a later movie, David/Walter do indeed splice android DNA. Though I think it's equally (if not more) possible that the external tubing and limb plates only are included in the batch that descends from the Space Jockey. The 426 Jockey was bio-mechanically connected to his suit (and ergo his ship) when he was killed by a burster. This would seem more likely that "android DNA".

I think David created eggs of his own (his own flavor).  Experiment/anger?  I don't know.  But what I can observe from what I know is that he did enable Shaw's death (via Holloway), but he might be angry that his (only) friend is dead?  I have a hard time with this though because AI do not need us - do not need friends.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, no carbon dating was shown on-screen that I remember..

Do we have any paleontologists in here? Does anyone know if a suit can be fossilised? I know bone can be fossilised, but tissue cannot unless under extremely lucky circumstances. If the Space Jockey is an 'organic' suit and has been there thousands of years, why hasn't the 'flesh' decayed leaving only fossilised bone?
