MemberOvomorphMay-03-2017 6:10 PMEDIT:
I have successfully finished and made available my own personal fan edit of Prometheus.
A ton of hours were put in to this, and it is NOT just a simple cut and paste of deleted/alternate scenes.
I'm fairly confident that if you take the time to view it, you won't be disappointed.
Prometheus - Tempest Edition
There may be a limit to the number of times this can be downloaded since I have a free membership to MEGA. Download it while you can!

It's been years since I've been active on this site.
After an abandoned attempt (due to a hard drive failure), I have successfully reached my goal of creating my very own fan edit for Prometheus.
I just wanted to make this announcement and also say that I am currently working on bringing the edit to the web. It's actually a lot harder than I expected and I'm not sure I want to sign up to these upload sites because it will most likely cost me a monthly membership.
On to the good stuff:
- Deleted the original theatrical opening.
- Also deleted most of the scenes where you actually see the Engineer.
I wanted to leave that for the end of the movie as sort of a "big reveal".
- Added a condensed portion of the TED Talk viral video for a "cold open".
- Added a custom (thanks to the permission of a Youtube user) opening credit sequence.
- Music added to the credits, including the opening one, that I feel bring a sense of satisfaction to the viewing experience.
- Lots of other additions/subtractions that I think really make the movie a better overall production with a (dare I say) Kubrick type feel to it.
I don't want to spoil anything else, but I will say that I did change a lot of the inner-workings of the movie where I can confidently say that it's not just a cut and paste of alternate and deleted scenes. It's much more than that but for the sake of hopefully getting some excitement going, I'll just leave it at that.
Sorry if this post is a little underwhelming due to the fact that I don't have the movie available for the public to view, I AM working on that, but I just had to share my excitement with everyone. I hope this generates interest, because that will motivate me to bring this edit out in the open, hopefully before Covenant is released.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2017 6:19 PMDarn you got my hopes up! There is a 1GB limit and my video is around 49GB. I'm pretty sure there are ways for me to condense it, but I believe 1GB is definitely out of the question. Somewhere around 20GB I think is the going rate for movies online.

MemberNeomorphMay-03-2017 6:23 PMIf you're willing to pay for Vimeo Plus/Pro, I think you can upload however many GBs and get away with any copyright notices!

MemberPraetorianMay-04-2017 4:08 PMMega, they have a 50 Gb limit, but it's free, and while folks won't be able to view it on that site, they can download it, so it's not an Optimal avenue, but a possible avenue for you to get your work out and available.
I'll keep an eye open for any other high capacity Vid hosting sites...Putlocker, maybe? I don't know much about them, but they might be a possibility?

MemberOvomorphMay-08-2017 3:52 AMDownloading now mate! Thanks for the link. I'll check it out tomorrow night. It's only 1.56GB is this correct?

MemberOvomorphMay-08-2017 5:28 AMYes. I had a trusted source view it and he told me it may need to be converted to a larger file because there is quality lost.
It was my very first movie edit, and my biggest edit if any kind to date. He also gave me some thoughts on what to change and what he liked. So being the OCD perfectionist that I am, I most likely will be revisiting this edit to do changes.
It's up to you, and anyone else reading this...if you still want to check it out.

MemberOvomorphMay-25-2017 2:10 PMHow do you convert it to a larger file? Also what type of file should it be converted to? Cheers.
