Why don't the Engineers have their own form of Artificial Intelligence?

Everything we have seen so far in the Alien series doesn't lead you to think that the Engineers have any use for Artificial Intelligence. Why is that?
The possible answers are 1) They have it, but in their own planet of origin 2) They banned any attempts to develop one for considering it too dangerous 3) They are too proud to admit they would need the help of it 4) Their religious believes barred them from creating it 5) They had one in the past, but it went rogue starting a war against them. 6) They found out that there is not such thing as a sentient machine 7) They assimilated the artificial intelligence and now they are one with it.
Which one of these possibilities do you think might be correct.
I would say maybe they created it before.
But who knows, i think the Engineers or at least the Elders are very very ancient they have created Life over and over, we cant even imagine how Advanced they are, but we have to Question, as Prometheus showed us... surely as they are just Mortals who possess Advanced Technology, then did their Original Ancestors have to Evolve to create such things?
Or did they too obtain their Technology from a more Advanced Alien Race...
So looking how old these beings are, then maybe Millions of years ago they have had their own Ups and Downs as far as various Creations... maybe they have created AI in the past and barely survived the consequences of this.
We do see these beings think they are superior and have no care for Humans, we do them would be no more than a Basic Monkey, or Guinea Pig.
They would not have much of a Moral Compass, not as far as anything effecting themselves.... just as Mankind Tests on Animals, we dont view them as Humans.
so if we look at David 8 as being a Synthetic Being, well then we also look at the Replicants in Blade Runner, who are Flesh and Blood, surely they would be seen as more Human and treated as equal.. we can understand David is a Synthetic and not real.
But to Clone Humanoids and Tamper with their Memories/Brain and Genetics to limit their Life Span, is playing God its a bit more Immoral than with Androids.
Not if you view yourself as a Superior being....
And so indeed the Engineers in effect could create Organic Life instead of AI, maybe the Engineers are like this they serve their masters and are like David or more like Replicants.
If these Engineer Replicants then Rebelled and then became Free and Sentient and Created their own Creations, they would have the Fear that their own Creations would one day Rebel against them.

BigDave But if Humanity is able to create a sentient manchine and they are not, that would make us superior to them. Good comparison with Blade Runner. It is a very provocative philosophical idea to think in the possibility that your creation becomes more evolved than yourself to the point where you won't share the same objectives and moral constraints any more.
I suspect they and their AI tech melded, along the lines of Transhumanism, akin to it.

Blackwinter-witch That's one of the possibilities. Funnily enough, one of the writers of Covenant, Jack Paglen, also wrote "Transcendence"
I didn't know that! Interesting connection. :) Especially to this overall convo, Universe seems to have a sense of humor tonight. :)

I'm with Blackwinter on this one. A race as ancient and advanced as the Engineers most likely created AI centuries ago and eventually found a way to fuse it with organic life forms. We've seen Engineers with bio-mech suits that seamlessly meld with the Juggernauts so it stands to reason that technology might be infused with artificial intelligence.
My belief is that a race that ancient wouldn't need flesh anymore and would transfer their soul aka consciousness to some type of material that doesn't perish.
Like memory on a phone. Once that phone gets old just switch it with a newer model. No procreation needed. Soon it will just be an upgrade and immortality will come to play. Well that's my personal belief.
Well Black Goo Bandit we have seen some old Engineers in the discarded footage from "Prometheus". I have the impression that these beings, having all those temples and stuff, are bound by some kind of very strict Dogma. They can probably defeat death but they just won't (doing so would be considered anathema), and that is the reason why the Engineer in "Prometheus" reacts in such a bad way when David tells him that Weyland is asking for more life.
I think that David said something else. Something to benefit his plans. I think the elders are just elders or they might be the rebels who do not want to integrate with technology and would rather be human or Engineer. Just like a conservative vs a liberal. Politics might still be involved, unfortunately.
I love the chatacter David but i don't think of him as trustworthy. I hope that I am wrong but we have seen what he is capable of. What his future model has done in Alien. Which in the future should be superior. I'm still guessing if Weyland is still programmed in him. I'm sorry for all the replies. I like to leave Dave for that. Lol.
Yeah I know. Imagine being in cryosleep with David wide awake all the time as your "guardian angel".
