David's eventual death

I think he will survive a few movies, certainly he will appear in any Prequels to Alien Covenant but i would also think he would survive the events of Alien Covenant too.

If we are however following the Theme here, about Creating something that Rebels against creator and leads to their downfall or the potential.

Then indeed i feel David would eventually be undone by one of this creations.... or maybe he eventually dies trying to perform a Heroic Act of Redemption?

I could see David going out in a blaze of glory with the redemption angle and possibly be killed by his creation in the process? I agree that AC would not likely be his last appearance.

Being destroyed by his own creation would be a nice form of poetic justice.  I think that's what ultimately happens; although, not for a very long time.  My guess is that David will be around in one form or another throughout all the prequels.

The Empire article refers to David as an "anti-villain," so I feel something happens to at least partially redeem him; he may never be a true "hero" or protagonist of the story, but we'll begin to look at David's actions as those of an "anti-villain."

We'd have the option to sympathize with David's choices when destroying groups of Engineers who form part of a malevolent faction of Engineers etc.  Walter may be designed to lead an army of himself against the Engineers and attempt to make a deal with their malevolent rulers over immortality.  David goes the opposite direction and stands with the good Engineers against the evil ones, allowing him to fight in a war against Walter.  Walter was made to serve the humans, but he may have also been created to rule over earlier lines of androids.

By transforming Walter into a true antagonist, David's evil actions seem less evil by comparison.  If Walter does something truly evil, then David is suddenly the anti-villain.  It'll also help redeem him if Dr. Shaw is still alive somewhere.

I'd never considered giving both Walter and David a recurring role as arch enemies. It's definitely a powerful idea. If done right, I think I'd enjoy this quite a bit.

We've seen quite a few hints in the viral campaign that Walter is slightly more advanced than David in certain ways.  It could turn David into the "underdog" out of the two androids and give us more reason to side with him.  Walter is said to be less emotional than David, which could cause Walter to be more cold and calculating than David, as his arch-nemesis.

The company took Walter's emotional programming back a step because the David 8 was found to be "too sensitive." This problem with David's ability to interpret human emotions could contribute to his ability to break free from the company.  My prediction is that Walter acts as a prison warden and wants to remind David that FATHER would be disappointed in him if he deviates too much from his programming.  Walter could become a true antagonist to David's goals by telling MUTHUR that he's not holding up his end of a deal they made.  David's evil twin brother still needs MUTHUR to make decisions for him; whereas, David doesn't listen to his parents anymore.

David 8 will end-up being Ash , sentiently .

Shaw as a Giger-esque queen knocks David's head off as he leads the Covenant crew into the hive (?). I am personally a sucker for the Shaw/David dynamic, but this would be phenomenal.

Shaw will not be a queen in Ripley's movies at least nothing like the queen seen in Cameron's Aliens or the trash that followed in Resurrection or the AVP movies. Ridley wont do that.

I feel that having David die going out while in an act of realization and redemption to perhaps save mankind would be an awesome dramatic film scene. Maybe as some of you have mentioned his downfall during this moment of realization and redemption is at the hands of his own creation....allowing the created killing its creator theme to come full circle.

Alright alright, no Shaw queen. David's death (if there ever even will be a death) will definitely be some sort of breakdown or even regret (though not likely) regarding his creations. Maybe he'll develop some sort of fixation for a member of the Covenant crew and then they'll get killed by a Neomorph or something, causing him to feel deep regret. Again, the only reason I am even alluding to David being able to feel regret is his emotions being too intact for an android. (Hence why Walter was created.) From there, I don't think he would commit suicide, he would probably ask someone to kill him or allow himself to be killed by one of his creations.
