David Bombarding the City (Spoiler)
Shaw did look to be in a rush or panic in the Hologram shot, we have to wander why she was humming "Take me Home" but we can not be sure this Humming is from this scene it could be added to mislead us as Trailers can do that... The 10 Cloverfield Lane Raw at the end of the Trailer is a Perfect Example.
Maybe Shaw and David made a Covenant after finding out who Evil these beings are?

Pre-emptive strike? To protect earth as they both knew the Engineers had plans to kill earth.
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING
@BD
I actually like that idea. The Engineer strike me as devoted to their cause, like a religion.
What if Ridders angle is also bout zealots that needs to be stopped.
Even though in this case I'd say it went a bit off track considering the collateral damage on the covenant crew.
And thinking bout it, why the distress signal? Why not warn possible rescuers of the dangers on the planet?
Eine Theorie die nicht auf Etwas solidem basiert ist für gewöhnlich nur Geschwätz.
I think we can assume IF Shaw was in on this plan, then once these beings had all been dealt with, maybe David then breaks what ever Covenant he has with Shaw.
And he is the one who makes the Distress Call so he can now carry on his Agenda against Mankind.

@Starlogger
I am full agreement with you, how is he able to hover the ship and stand on the bay doors while the canisters drop...he should have to be at the controls unless they have Shaw piloting the ship...i feel that having it be on autopilot while he does this while standing there is lazy screen writing
Perhaps Shaw made a covenant with David to perform this deed to save mankind on Earth, ...she wont get her answers as to walk up to the Engineers who want Earth destroyed and start a dialog seems illogical and stupid, i could see her coming to the conclusion that this is the best course of action and making a pact with David to do so...she helps him and then everything goes sideways with him as he delves into his experiments and god complex
I posted in another thread about what was in the Empire magazine regarding Shaw- interesting indeed!
