When will you stop visiting this site?

MemberFacehuggerApril 10, 20176322 Views38 RepliesOf course I'm referring to that time between when the film is released and you see it? I guess I would say that I will stop - temporarily- after May 18th (day before it opens in the US) until I am able to see it. some countries will be getting the movie earlier so maybe I should stop sooner until I can see the movie? I think someone on here from Sweden is going to see it on May 12th? Now we are all guessing at what's in the film and have little bits of info from leaks etc, but I don't want to ruin the viewing with any real commentary from those that have been able to see it. When is the best time to start the hiatus?
Of course I'll return after I see it so we can all continue to speculate about the next movie
I still come to this site way after Prometheus was released to speculate on other areas...

oh I'll be back for sure. Been coming here for years. Just going to have to avoid it right as the movie comes out until I can get to the theater
I'll be back, count on it, to hear what folks think, and continue the voyage even deeper into the silent dark of the ALIENverse where screams can not be heard. :D

I think i'll stop at the 12:th, when the britts see it. Then I'll watch the movie on the 17:th (Sweden) and then I'll be back on the 20:th to discuss it with You guys! (Well, maybe not before everyone has seen it...)
Witch makes me wonder... When would it be ok to discuss the movie?
"Bees have hives, man"
I would say post-19th would be ok, but be sure to post stuff with very obnoxious spoiler tags
@ALIEN426
Yes, not doing that would allmost be a cause to be banned, right! I know I would be pretty p#@@$d of if anyone did'nt do that before I'd had the chance to watch it...
"Bees have hives, man"
I will be sticking around....
Lucky for me i get to see it early, but i wont drop any hints or stuff on here until well after its been out so not until after say 25th.
I am sure from the 10th on-wards the Internet will be a buzz with reviews and Spoilers... as the Movie would defiantly had been shown in some places by then.
I will also be here to debate after the Movie and what questions it leaves and what it answers.
For those who wish to go in Blind, then it would be best to stay away from here after the 10th of May and until after you have seen the Movie yourself.

I'm looking forward to watching all the activity and such in the final lead-up, showing dates and post-showing dates :)

Sadly this is a feature this Site does not have, and so it could be tricky and so for most people i would advise going into hiding after the 7th May to be on the Safe Side until they have seen the Movie lol
The only Advice i would give anyone is make sure any Topics are Started with
SPOILER ALERT!!! or similar.
like say for Prometheus, it could have been like.
SPOILER ALERT!!! Discussing the Ending of Prometheus.
Anyone then who looks at the Topic cant complain if the Spoilers Spoil the movie...
I am sure Chris will make a Topic come May 1st about the Dos and Donts... as far as Spoilers.
So like i said with the SPOILER ALERT before the Topic Name, another consideration is to not give it away in the Title...
Like Speculative Topic...
SPOILER ALERT!! Shaws Trilobite in Alien Covenant
This would be better to say.. Shaws Shocking Scene etc
SPOILER ALERT!! Cant believe they Killed David off!
This would be better as say.... Davids Destiny, or Davids Fate

Semi-relevant to the Topic, I have officially contacted FOX Studios to find out/begin the process of getting my works Licensed and hopefully Canonized.
Soooo....we will see, what we see, when we see it.
It's relevant as it's been my exposure to the forum members here that drove that decision and committment to it, and I enjoy having people who enjoy reading my works, well excerpts and snippets of at any rate. :)
To me, this is a site I will be remaining with for many reasons and for a long time to come. One key reason is that it's one of the few places where ALIEN fans don't get shoved aside and ignored in favor of things like 'Star Trek' and the other super-franchises.
It's an ALIEN-oasis. :D

It drops here downunder on 18th May, i will go and see it on 21st May, i will keep away from the forum from the 11th until after i see it and come back in after the 21st, i will only comment on how the film was(good/bad comment only) with no spoilers from this little puppie! lol.
@Blackwinter-witch
Fingers crossed ;)
I think even if they dont take it on board it could be released as Fan Fiction i suppose and i would be willing to make a donation ;)

Yep im here for the long haul now, mainly cause you are all such great company lol.
Even after this film im sure there will be many more questions, theories, directions regarding the NEXT RS Prometheus sequel/prequel. Then the possible Alien 5 film too.
lots to discuss!
@Blackwinter Witch. That's exciting news, go for it!!! Your Manticore work is amazing and is easily good enough to be licenced. Im with BigDave Id buy/donate.
Keep us posted how it goes with FOX.
TY Guys!!!for speaking in kind support and appreciation of my work, and TY especially for speaking about making a donation!!!! :D
I'll have to look into that and learn how it works online...never considered it before.
I will of course keep you all in the loop as to what FOX says, no worries there. :)
Worst-Case scenario: I will release ALIEN: Manticore and it's follow-up as Fan-Fiction, which suits me just fine. :)

Given the plans for future sequels (chapters?) in this franchise, yeah, I'll be around to enjoy the ride as they come about and the pirhana-style theorizing and fun between them :)

We will see.
I crawled through their entire site using the sitemap, couldn't really find anyone or a dept. that 'fit', so I sent them a General Inquiry asking for some directions/people/dept. to contact as well as a brief overview as to why I wish to do so.
So, with some luck, I'll get a useful answer. If not, then I'll try contacting a Licensing agency to see if they can help me.
