The Plastinated Synthetic

The Plastinated Synthetic

After the appearance of the so called “plastinated Engineer”, a thought crossed my mind – that the plastinated Engineer is NOT an engineer, but a Synthetic in the middle of the making process, or being dissected, studied.

Regarding this idea, I’m basically lead by the thought of David, after some time, changing his “mind-set” (‘bad choice of words’, he would say), not trying to create the perfect organism anymore, but trying to BECOME the perfect organism himself. For this, he would have to experiment on his own ‘anatomy’. But how to be the scientist and the experiment at the same time? The answer comes from the sky: Walter. The “plastinated Engineer” from the trailer is Walter, being experimented on by David. Would it be possible that he could manage to combine Synthetic (Walter? Himself? General synthetic properties?) + black goo properties + human reproduction system (Shaw’s ‘improved’ womb, to create the eggs)?

*Has anybody else noticed how the "plastinated Engineer" from the trailer looks like Dieter Laser?! lol

There's a pic of the plastinated body with half a white face. It looks totally like an Engineer and nothing like Walter.

nope

its one of the engineers / engineer-like humanoids from the planet.

 Well, if it's so clearly an Engineer, then obviously you guys are right, and I wouldn't even have thought about all this with Walter lol... But honestly, I don't see any ressemblance of this with an Engineer more than with any other humanoid species... the "white" skin seems to me not even a skin, but something that could be part of the conservation process, some under layer to cover the body, anything... it doesn't look like Fassbender, because it could be, as I said, dissected (the face of this guy doesn't look like an Engineer to me as well)..

But who knows? Experimentation with the Eng. would definitely be more interesting to see indeed imo;

We can't be certain at this point who that specimen was. Engineer, humanoid, synthetic?

The technique is used to preserve organic tissue. I spent many years drawing and photographing plastinated specimens for illustration purposes. Muscle tends to become a dark tannish red colour, whilst skin, tendons and ligaments vary between degrees of pale yellowish white to tannish yellow.

In a nutshell, after preservation processes, formaldehyde etc, it replaces fat and water by injecting synthetic resins into the specimen.

All I can add is that looking at the image, that being certainly looks as if it would have been organic-humanoid in nature.

To me that whole set up looks like a specimen lab come museum. David has set up shop there, studied the methods and techniques of the former owners and is now conducting his own experiments.

Perhaps he has been investigating a reverse method to make himself organic through utilising the black goo?

@Lone

Thanks for sharing the infos about the plastination; It also seems 'organic' to me, but I was wondering if a Synthetic, in order to be the closest possible to a human being, wouldn't be made following strictly its anatomy too.. anyway, again I think it would be awesome to see a dissected Engineer or something like that.

I agree with the idea of David acquiring their methods and scientific data. As a synthetic, he is uploaded with the most advanced and accumulated human knowledge... imagine adding some alien science, that seems to be fair advanced than human's... this boy is getting powerful..

The idea of trying to become organic is, indeed, a very nice one!

Hi all! I'm new to the forum :)

I agree, there is no way knowing if that is an engineer. I'm toying with the idea that David is creating the Xeno here by using organic and artificial material, possibly Walter. If now the Xeno is created by David, I would like for it to come about in some twisted and perverted way.
