David's workshop on Paradise with a dead Shaw?

Even with lowres you can tell its obviously an engineer body - and no human physiology at a closer look. 

Shaw died shortly before or during the wipe out of the engineers.

I respectfully disagree.. reason being the size of the body on the table compared to the human in the center of the image with the helmet on looking upwards at the xeno in the foreground, seen better in motion

From that picture it looks like a human sized Engineer. Perhaps an earlier version of humans that lived on that planet. 

But this also spawns the question "How did David gain a body in the first place?"...

Got it... Either smaller version/race, or a juvenile. Then again the jaw line looks like Shaw... Hope I'm wrong. Kinda :P

At the 1:12 mark in Trailer #2, you see Daniels reaching out for the Weyland ID Tag. The name on the tag is facing the camera and is visible for just a split-second. I tried doing a screenshot, rotating counter-clockwise 90° and zooming as best as I could without degrading the image. It appears to say Dr. E Shaw, but I can't be 100% certain. Someone who's better with image enhancement could probably say for sure. 

This is actually really interesting! Someone commented about this in the thread I posted the trailer on and I took notice, but more of us are starting to see it. 

It is funny, the body does look to be the size of a human, but also Engineer like. Then again, I kind of think it looks like David/Walter! And with all these sketches, it looks as if they just took concept art and put it in the movie haha! But this does seem to be David's workshop possibly. 

The only thing is that the member of the Covenant that is about to die...why is he there? Remember there was promotional image of Walter and one of the crew members on the Covenant looking at an Engineer? It looked like the cover of the Prometheus blu-ray, like something out of the recording of the Engineers planning to take off in Prometheus. 

If the Covenant knows something about the Prometheus mission, maybe they know a lot? I think that might possibly be somewhere on the Covenant. Although it looks to be surrounded by stone walls and it's huge, so I don't know. 

if you play the scene at 0.25x speed and 1080p, you can see some disfigured or hurt person stumbling away from the guy looking above. i dont know but it somehow appears as if the guy may have been beaten him up prior to the Alien approaching. Maybe David/Walter getting some Parker like rage?

Also seems to have wierd long arms.

I'm 99% sure that's definitely Shaw's tag! Nice find!

Not sure why he'd be in that room, but can't wait to find out! I've had this hunch that David creates the xeno that we know since I saw Prometheus... and since Xenos seem biomechanical I tend to think he blends his "DNA" with something truly organic, but maybe has the power to alter it. A lot of questions that I don't really want all the answers to. More answers leaves less room for imagination...

Concept art in the film itself? I can imagine that... who would know?

I'll try playing it at 1/4 speed and look for the limping/hurt figure...

I'm also wondering from a plot standpoint if A:C might show David and Shaw at the beginning of the film interacting with the Engineers on this planet (if this is indeed the Engineer home-world) and somehow, for some reason, Shaw is killed by the Engineers and David avenges Shaw's death by creating the various xeno/proto/neo species as a way to eradicate the Engineers.

I've wondered if by Shaw bonding with/making amends with David at the end of Prometheus that David somehow has become so attached to Shaw that he goes off the deep end after she's gone. 

So many cool scenarios to work with :-)

David does not really know how to be free, so maybe he gets attached (for lack of better word) to Shaw and if she did die at the hands engineers....Yeah that is cool. I don't really think that this is how it is going to have played out, but it's a possibility I still

The dog tag zoom is a great find. Puts that debate to rest. Looks like they retcon the fact that Shaw only wore a crucifix.

to the OP, i believe you are exactly right. That is Shaw in David's lab. 

It is now clear that the 4chan test screening leakers were indeed right all along. Various parts of the trailer confirm it. 

*spoilers*

this is important is because all the leakers say that the truth about shaw is discovered in David's lab. But that it is implied that David either killed her or experimented on her. That fits exactly with the screen shot. As the discovery of Shaw's cadaver would do this very thing without a bunch of exposition. It's implied, like a crime scene. 4chan came through again!

it can't be an engineer. It's obviously much smaller than the crew in the shot. What does that leave? Human or android.

it can't be android because they don't have tissue like what is shown.

So what human fits the appearent size and would be all nicely set on a table in David's lab for the covenant crew to find? Riddle me that batman.

I love how you try to rationalize your bad guess. First you incorrectly state that it couldn't be her because she is already dead when they reach paradise. Sorry wrong answer.

Then you pull out of you arse something about the size of the torso. Well, of course it's going to look out of proportion, it's opened up, probably busted open from inside.

I would like to bet, but theres just no appeal for betting on something certain. Remember this thread when the movie is released, dear irrational and not so smart person.

Interesting discussion. I think it's pretty evident. That's Shaw (the figure has hair too). Clearly her chest has been cracked, and propped open. You can clearly see the sawn ribcage. There seems to be something holding her head. I'm wondering if this may have been part of some apparatus keeping her alive.

There are two of the covenant crew in this room. Both appear to be on their knees. One looking up at the Protomorph dripping saliva near him, and the other guy is leaning over with his left hand on his rifle on the ground, and his right hand propping himself up, as if he's about to vomit (or may have just done so).

Is it possible this could be an Engineer? Of course. But nothing about the body suggests it's any more an Engineer than it is Shaw. Dead people tend to be very pale, especially following massive blood loss and sustained trauma. The size of the chest is simply a reflection of the trauma the body has endured.

I suspect any Engineers David experimented on were disposed of, but Shaw - Shaw is special (for more than one reason), and David will have kept her alive as a 'birthing machine' as long as he could.

This is not Goran D. Kluet (a very large person), however I'd suggest he may well have been experimented on by David.

I guess we'll find out soon enough, but it's fun to speculate. If we all had the same ideas, and they ended up to be the same as the movie, it'd be pretty boring and predictable.

The stuff on the tablet looks interesting as well. There seems to be facehugger in the middle - looks like the one on the hanging banner - slightly different from the trailer one - a lot thinner legs. Also on the left corner  there is something that looks like a arm - pretty big compared to the dissected body - maybe there are big engineers there after all.

everyone believing the dissected enginner-like humanoid male on the table to be a chestbursted Shaw is either trolling or completely delusional :'D
