I'm doing this in response to some of the back lash on the Weyland Yutani thread(sorry about that one)A couple of posters stated that they are here to discuss the Xenomorphand they are right,so we are going to do just that.We all agree on the Big Chap, but there are various opinions on everything that came afterwards. Some don't like the rougher domes of Aliens warriors, some day like the queen.of course the dog/runner and newborn alien take a lot of beatings lol.Same goes for Prometheus's creatures. So here is an opportunity to rank them according to how much you like them. This is all in good fun so have at it.

For me it was only ever the original Giger Alien. The way Giger designed it and the way Ridley shot it to appear like some kind of bio-mechanical Dracula or grim reaper was genius.

The space jockey, for me, was something that held my attention and had me pondering as to it's nature and backstory since I first saw the film 33 years ago.

I always imaged that it was some sort of humanoid, bio-mechanical creature that was fused to its chair and that it and the derelict were connected, literally.

Funny how things don't turn out the way you imagined

The poster was good though!

The Big Chap is nigh impossible to beat. It's just a beautiful monstrosity.I'd personally say that Aliens warriors  are the biggest rivalry for me.

@Necronom 4

But.....that's what it ended up being.... The Engineers are fused to their suits. You can see how they kind of fade into their flesh. Also, when they pilot a juggernaut, they do "attach" themselves to it. So I'm not really sure how it didn't turn out exactly the way you describe

The Space Jockey should never have been just a suit. It should have been the being itself. Instead it's indistinguishable from a human from our common epoch. But I digress...

1. Kane's son (Alien)

2. Facehugger (Alien)

3. The Queen (Aliens) [updated]

4. Drone Aliens (Aliens)

DNQ. Dog alien, Newborn, Predalien, Deacon, Engineers, Hammerpede, Trilobite, and everything in between.

I have to also say, the animatronics of Kane's son's head was absolutely exquisite and that isn't down to Giger or Scott, but Carlo Ramboldi. The slow movement and ridiculous salivation was and is mesmerising.

@ninXeno426   Don't apologize for what happened on that other thread. These sites are for people's opinions, it's your right to have whatever opinion you want. Just cause some people can't take what somebody else says without attacking them about it and not have a civilized conversation, it's not your fault. You're awesome, keep up the good work!

1. Alien (The ol' Big Chap) needs no explanation, way ahead of its time and still a timeless design.

2. The Space Jockey - designed long before the "engineer" was even conceived over 30 years later. And fortunately I don't perceive them as the same creature due to the size and design differences. It doesn't work in my book but that's just my honest opinion of honesty.

3. Alien Queen - Like I've stated before I'm not sure that I agree with Cameron's idea of xeno reproduction, but the Queen itself design-wise is probably the best possible result of how a xeno queen would (and imo should) look. It's Gigerishly dark and twisted, with a huge crown- like head.

4. Alien (Alien Resurrection) - My second favourite standard size Alien design much thanks to the extra leg joints that would distinguish them even further from humans.

5. The Newb*gets smacked*orn

*runs to a protective cage and stays in there*

I love it, luuuuuv it. It stills creeps me out like f*** with those black eyes revealed when a light source directed at its nightmarish skull face comes on or flashes. Those freakishly long limbs and fingers *shivers* and a bold choice of color. All made real with fantastic animatronics.

6. Alien Warrior - Not bad at all and pretty cool with the head pattern, I really liked the elongated fingers.

7. Dog Alien - my least favorite but OK. Brave choice of color going from black black/bluish to a more brownish tone, but the Doggiemorph was the one that scared me the least *gets smacked again* HEY!!

Hall of Shame (just my brutally honest opinion! Delivered with a dose of humor!)

1. Deacon - adorable for the wrong reasons. Looks like something Pixar designed in a 7+ Alien animated family film (until it opens its inner jaw and traumatize the kids forever)

2. ZombiFifield (final dumbed down version) - seriously? Do we really need a raging Toxic Avenger in the franchise?

3. Engineers - tall Frankenstein's Monster Albinos in superhero armor wasn't exactly the way I imagined the Space Jockey origin.

4. The Trilobite - standard tentacle beast. Cool animatronic work though.

@ninXeno426 What's really sad to me is that modern time people (for like teenagers and people in their early 20s) is the way that they see the original Alien (Kane's son) is a weird looking puppet thing that's not scary at all... and sadley the Alien from AVP: R scared me more than Kane's son. I feel its a shame since the people who watched the movie around when it came out saw it as horrifiing but that's not the way I see it, I actually saw Prometheus before Alien and find the Aliens from Prometheus (Still) scarier than Kane's son.

Alien Isolation was an amazing experience, I actually recently beat the game and I'm trying it now on Nightmare mode to get the hellish experience that the crew of the Nostromo experienced. The Xenomorph in modern day film, video games, etc is much scarier than the alien in Alien
