Facehugger life span?

I think SM may be able to answer this, i am sure i heard they can survive for like 5 days or something.

We dont know much about Biology yet, but i would liked to see my Cabbage Patch theory at play lol....   where the Organism with no Host could die and dis-solve into Material that a new Egg Forms from.

SM will definitely know more about this. 

As far as I can remember, the WY Report suggests that the Facehugger can survive for up to 120 hours outside of the egg, without impregnation, although no longevity tests were performed.

Yay Dave, your CP theory definitely makes a lot of sense, it would be an appropriate addition to MORB biology! ;)

Anecdotal evidence suggests they can live 120 hours outside the egg, but there's no definitive data.  The hugger at Hadley could've been in the stasis tanks for several weeks, though the fluid in the tanks could've also prolonged their lives.
